Safety and Notes
Specications
• Product should be installed and serviced in accordance with applicable national, state, and local building
and electrical codes.
• Risk of re or electrical shock. Install transformer at least 10 ft (3.05 m) from pools, spas, or fountains.
• Outdoor, above ground installation only. For use with low voltage landscape lighting only.
• This transformer must be connected to GFCI-protected receptacle marked suitable for wet locations.
Receptacle must be protected by a weatherproof cover.
• Do not submerge the transformer or use it to power submersible lights or lights mounted in or near pools,
spas, or fountains.
• If cleaning is necessary, use a damp cloth to wipe down case. Do not spray transformer with pressurized
water or steam.
• Do not use with a dimmer or extension cord or attempt to wire in parallel with other transformers.
• Do not exceed 70% of the maximum wattage of the transformer when connecting lights.
• Transformer must be mounted in a vertical orientation with the bottom at least 1 ft from the ground.
• Ensure all mounts are securely attached and will support the transformer’s weight. Failure to properly
support transformer may result in damage or injury, for which the manufacturer does not assume responsibility.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or modify transformer.
• Ensure wire to lights is correct gauge for the run and total power of the intended circuit and is intended for use
with outdoor landscape applications.
Mounting Transformer
To function properly, transformer should be installed in a location
where photocell is not blocked or too near nighttime light sources.
Securely mount transformer 1–4 ft from ground level using a
weather resistant screw that is an appropriate size to support
transformer’s weight.

Function Description:

The transformer's primary function is to provide a stable 12 VAC power source for landscape lighting. It includes a digital timer and photocell for automated operation, allowing users to set the lights to turn on at dusk and off at dawn, or to operate for a specific number of hours after dusk. The device is designed for outdoor, above-ground installation only and must be connected to a GFCI-protected receptacle suitable for wet locations. A key safety feature is its ability to cut output power in the event of a significant overload, protecting both the transformer and the connected lighting system.

Usage Features:

• Installation:
  • Must be installed at least 10 ft (3.05 m) from pools, spas, or fountains.
  • Outdoor, above-ground installation only.
  • Connects to a GFCI-protected receptacle suitable for wet locations, which must be protected by a weatherproof cover.
  • Mounting: Securely mount 1-4 ft from ground level in a vertical orientation, with the bottom at least 1 ft from the ground. The photocell should not be blocked or too near nighttime light sources.
  • Wiring: Remove approximately 0.5 inches of insulation from landscape wiring, insert wires fully into the terminal plate, and tighten securely.
  • Do not exceed 70% of the transformer's maximum wattage when connecting lights.
  • Ensure the wire gauge to lights is correct for the run and total power of the intended circuit.
• Timer Controls and Display:
  • Display On/Off: The display is lit when there is power on the output side. It may be off if the transformer is overloaded or if the 1-9 timer settings have turned off output power.
  • Constant Power Mode (P): Indicated by 'P' on the display, meaning the transformer output stays on 24 hours a day.
  • Dusk-to-Dawn Mode (A): Selecting 'A' puts the transformer in automatic dusk-to-dawn mode, turning output power on at dusk and off at dawn.
  • Timed Operation (1-9): Selecting a number from 1 to 9 switches output power on at dusk and off after the selected number of hours.
  • Overload Indication (Flashing L): 'L' flashes when the transformer detects a minor overload.

• Troubleshooting Overload: If the display is off due to an overload, fix the issue (e.g., reduce connected wattage, check for short circuits in wiring), then press the up arrow on the digital timer controls to restart the transformer.
• System Check: After installation, operate the system for five minutes. Connections should be cool to the touch. If a connection is hot, re-tighten it and check for temperature decrease.
