  If your DK2 Power Chipper's engine won’t start, begin by checking that the ignition switch is in the “ON” position and the fuel shut-off valve is open. Ensure you are using fresh, clean gas, replacing it if old. Inspect the spark plug; replace it if dirty or cracked. If the spark plug is oily, remove it, cover the plug hole with a rag, and pull the recoil cord several times to clear any oil from the cylinder. Then, clean the plug and reinsert it.

  If your DK2 Power Chipper engine isn't running smoothly or lacks power, first ensure the Throttle Lever is in the “Run” position. Check and replace the air filter if it’s dirty, and replace the spark plug if it’s fouled or cracked. If the spark plug is oily, remove it, cover the plug hole with a rag, and pull the recoil cord several times to clear any oil from the cylinder. Then, clean the plug and reinsert it. Use fresh, clean unleaded gas, replacing it if old. Also, verify that the engine has the correct amount of clean oil; change the oil if it’s dirty and adjust the oil level as needed.
