- Starting Procedure:
- Position the chipper on flat, dry ground and ensure it cannot move.
- Set the fuel shut-off valve to "ON."
- Move the choke control lever to "CHOKE" (for cold engines).
- Move the throttle control lever to "FAST."
- For electric start, turn and hold the key in the start position until the engine starts, then release to the run position.
- Slowly move the choke control lever back to "RUN" once the engine is running well.
- Warm up the engine at half throttle for 3-4 minutes, then advance to maximum speed.
- Adjust the feeding function handle to "Forward."
- Adjust the feed roller to the proper speed (slow for large trees, fast for small trees).
