11. Make sure the taper of the spindle Fig.12.
and the tapered hole in the chuck are clean.
Push the chuck up onto the spindle as
far as it will go.
12. Open the chuck jaws as wide as possible by
turning the chuck sleeve Fig.13., to make
sure that jaws do not protrude.
13. Hold chuck onto the taper of the spindle
and tap with soft faced hammer to the seat
chuck, as shown in Fig.13.
14. The drill press is supplied with the belt
installed. However the belt must be properly
tensioned before use by following the
instructions under SPEED/BELT CHANGING
on page 13 of this manual.
