Overview

The Draper Wi-Fi Endoscope (Stock No. 91648, Part No. WIFIENDO) is a versatile inspection camera designed for viewing inside confined spaces and for close examination of obscured machine parts. It transmits images and video wirelessly via a Wi-Fi connection to a dedicated app on iOS or Android devices, allowing for local storage of captured media.

Function Description

The endoscope's primary function is to provide visual access to areas that are difficult or impossible to reach with the naked eye. This includes wall cavities, piping, engines, and other machinery. The device is equipped with a camera and adjustable LED lighting to illuminate dark environments. It can capture still images and record video, which are then displayed on a connected smart device. The Wi-Fi unit facilitates wireless transmission, while the brightness control wheel allows users to adjust the intensity of the LED lights. Accessories such as hook, magnet, and mirror attachments extend its utility, enabling retrieval of small objects or changing the viewing angle.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Camera Size: Ø8mm
  • Resolution: 2MP (640x480, 1280x720)
  • Focal Length: 40-100mm (important for clear focus)
  • Light: 6 x adjustable LEDs
  • Mirror Angle (accessory): 70°
  • Cable Length: 3.5m, semi-rigid
  • Max. Wireless Range: 30m
  • Wireless Frequency: 2.4GHz
  • Battery: 800mA rechargeable
  • Battery Life (full charge): Up to 90 minutes (approx.)
  • Compatible Operating System: iOS, Android
  • IP Rating: IP67 (camera and cable only), making it suitable for use underwater or in dusty environments.
  • Power Source: Rechargeable battery pack/Wi-Fi unit.

Usage Features

The endoscope is designed for ease of use with smart devices.

  • Connectivity: It connects to iOS or Android devices via a dedicated "Wifi Check" app. Users must connect their smart device to the endoscope's Wi-Fi network (named "Wifi Check-xxxx").
  • Adjustable Lighting: The brightness control wheel (2) allows users to adjust the intensity of the six LED lights, ensuring optimal visibility in various conditions.
  • Image and Video Capture: The app enables users to change video feed resolution, flip or rotate the feed, and capture photos and videos, which can be saved to local storage on the smart device.
  • Accessories:
    • Mirror Attachment (E): Screws onto the camera head to change the viewing angle, useful when a front-facing view is not ideal. Users must remove the protective film before use and avoid forcing the mirror onto the camera to prevent thread damage.
    • Hook (B) and Magnet (C) Extensions: Attach to the camera head to move or retrieve small, damaged, or obstructive objects. These extensions are inserted into an extension socket (4) and secured with a fixing sleeve. If combined with the mirror attachment, the extension must be installed first.
    • Suction Pads (G): Provided for convenience, these allow the smart device, Wi-Fi unit, and brightness control box to be fixed to a wall, other surfaces, or to each other.
  • Power Management: The device is switched on by pressing and holding the power button (9) for approximately three seconds. Power (10) and connection (8) indicators illuminate to show device status. The unit automatically switches off after two minutes if the camera cable is not connected.
  • Focal Length Consideration: The object being viewed must be within 40-100mm of the camera lens to appear in focus.

Maintenance Features

  • Charging: The battery pack should be charged for at least two hours before first use and periodically during storage to prevent damage. The power indicator (10) illuminates red during charging and goes out when fully charged.
  • Storage: Store the product in a cool, clean, and dry environment, out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
  • Cleaning: The camera elements are IP67 rated, suitable for use underwater. However, the Wi-Fi unit and brightness control should not be exposed to liquids or heavy dust. If condensation forms inside the camera lens, the camera should not be used until the moisture has fully evaporated.
  • Disposal: At the end of its working life, the product should be disposed of responsibly and in line with local regulations. It should not be disposed of with domestic waste, and batteries should not be burned or mutilated. Recycling facilities should be utilized where possible.
  • Warranty: Draper Tools offers a warranty covering parts and labor for the product's lifetime against defective materials or workmanship, provided proof of purchase is available. The warranty does not cover consumable parts, batteries, normal wear and tear, misuse, careless handling, alterations, accidents, or unauthorized repairs. For hired tools, the warranty period is 90 days.

Important Safety Information

  • Ensure cables are connected to the correct ports; do not apply power to the video input port.
  • Do not handle the battery pack with wet hands.
  • Do not direct the LED lamp at eyes.
  • Do not open or damage the battery pack or expose it to high temperatures.
  • Strictly NOT for medical use or surveillance equipment.
  • The product MUST be used in accordance with local regulations.
