Overview

This document is an instruction manual for a Dreamcatcher Fitted Washable Electric Blanket. It provides essential information regarding the product's specifications, usage, safety precautions, operation, care, maintenance, and warranty.

Function Description

The Dreamcatcher Fitted Washable Electric Blanket is designed to provide warmth and comfort by being placed directly onto a mattress. It features a heating element that warms the bed surface, offering an even distribution of heat. The blanket is washable, allowing for easy cleaning and maintenance. Double, King, and Super King sizes come with dual controls, enabling individual heat settings for each side of the bed. The blanket is equipped with an overheat safeguard system to prevent overheating and damage to the heating element, disengaging power if a hazard occurs. It is intended for household use only and is not recommended for hospitals.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Voltage: 220 - 240V~50Hz
  • Rated Power (Single): 1 x 70W (FEBPS107-2)
  • Rated Power (Double/King): 2 x 60W (FEBPD137-2, FEBPK152-2)

    • FEBPD137-2: 137 x 193 cm (Double)
    • FEBPK152-2: 152 x 203 cm (King)
    • FEBPSK182-2: 182 x 203 cm (Super King)
  • Overheat Protection: All blankets are fitted with an overheat safeguard system that disengages power to the heating element before overheat hazards occur.
  • Washability: The blanket features waterproof heating elements, making it safe for hand or machine washing (controllers detached).

Usage Features

  1. Placement: The electric blanket should be placed directly onto the mattress, with the power lead near the pillow's edge. If a mattress protector is used, it goes over the electric blanket.
  2. Size Matching: Ensure the blanket size matches the mattress size (e.g., King size blanket on a King size mattress). Do not use a smaller blanket on a larger mattress or vice versa.
  3. Even Warmth: The blanket is designed to provide even, all-over warmth for the entire bed surface and should not be tucked in at the sides.
  4. Connection: After securing to the mattress, connect the plug to a power point and switch it on. The flexible cord and switch must be kept outside the bed, away from open windows or moisture.
  5. Dual Control: Double, King, and Super King sizes have dual controls, allowing users to set their desired heat settings independently for each side of the bed.
  6. Operation & Controls:
    • Switch the controller to the ON position.
    • Set temperature for "Body" or "Foot" from 1-4 heat settings, which can be used separately.
    • Use the "Time" button to choose heating time from 1 to 9 hours for body and feet.
    • Preheat: The highest mode (4 heat setting) should only be used for preheat and not for continuous operation. The 4th heating level automatically transfers to the 3rd level after 3 hours.
    • Continuous Operation: Other modes (1-3) can be used continuously. It is recommended to preset the heat setting at number 2 if the blanket is to be left on all night.
    • Moisture Drying: Initial use helps dry out moisture accumulated in the mattress.
    • Odor: A slight odor may be noticed during the first use due to insulation material; this is harmless and will dissipate.
    • LED Lights: If all LED lights flash simultaneously, check the connector. If they flash again, the unit is damaged.

Maintenance Features

  1. Before Cleaning: Disconnect the blanket from the mains supply, then disconnect the controller from the blanket. Store the controller carefully.
  2. Cleaning:
    • Do not dry clean.
    • Hand Wash: The blanket can be immersed in water and washed by hand due to its waterproof heating elements.
    • Machine Wash: With controllers detached, the blanket can be machine washed (if size permits) on a WOOL or DELICATES cycle with a neutral detergent or mild soap powder at a wash temperature of 40°C. Do not use high-speed or extra spin cycles.
    • Controller: Do not allow any part of the controller to be immersed in liquid.
  3. Drying:
    • Drape the blanket over a clothesline to dry; do not use pegs to secure it.
    • Allow to dry naturally. Do not use direct heat sources like a hair dryer or heater.
    • Ensure the blanket and its connector are fully dry before reconnecting the controller and using.
  4. Damage Check: Regularly check the blanket, controller, and cable for damage or wear. If any is found, the product must be checked by a qualified engineer before further use.
  5. Storage: When storing, fold neatly but not tightly (or roll) to avoid sharp bends in the heating element. Store where no other objects will be placed upon it. Avoid pressing creases into the appliance.
  6. Inspection: It is recommended that the electric blanket be inspected by a qualified and registered person after 3 years of use.
