What to do if my Duluth Forge PFS FLM24/30-1-LP Heater sparks but doesn't ignite?
    • E
      Eduardo GrimesAug 19, 2025
If your Duluth Forge Heater is sparking at the ODS/pilot but not igniting, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure that the gas supply is turned on and the equipment shutoff valve is open. Next, check that the control knob is in the PILOT position and fully pressed in while pressing the ignitor button. If it is a new installation, or there has been a recent gas interruption, there might be air in the gas lines; in that case, continue holding down the control knob and repeat the igniting operation until the air is removed. Another potential issue could be a clogged ODS/pilot, which may require cleaning or replacement. Finally, for propane models, a depleted gas supply could be the reason; contact your local propane gas company to check.

Why does the pilot light go out when I release the control knob on my Duluth Forge Heater?
    • E
      Elizabeth McintyreAug 21, 2025
If the ODS/pilot light on your Duluth Forge Heater goes out when you release the control knob, it could be due to several reasons. First, make sure the control knob is fully pressed in and held for at least 30 seconds after the ODS/pilot lights. Also, ensure the equipment shutoff valve is fully open. A loose thermocouple connection at the control valve could also be the culprit; hand tighten it until snug, then tighten it an additional 1/4 turn. Low gas pressure or a dirty/partially clogged ODS/pilot can also cause this issue. In the first case, contact your local gas company. In the second case, clean or replace the ODS/pilot assembly. If the thermocouple is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

How to fix a Duluth Forge PFS FLM24/30-1-LP Heater when the ignitor button produces no spark?
    • A
      angelaharrisAug 25, 2025
If there's no spark at the ODS/pilot when you press the ignitor button on your Duluth Forge Heater, start by replacing the battery. If that doesn't work, check if the ignitor electrode is connected to the ignitor cable and reattach if necessary. Ensure the ignitor cable isn't pinched or wet; free it from any obstructions and keep it dry. Also, inspect the ignitor electrode for proper positioning or breakage, and replace it if needed. If the ignitor cable is broken, replace it. Finally, the piezo ignitor itself might be faulty and require replacement.

What to do if my Duluth Forge Heater shuts off while running, but the ODS is still operating?
    • J
      Jacqueline ThompsonAug 27, 2025
If your Duluth Forge Heater shuts off during use while the ODS is still operating, it could be due to a few reasons. Insufficient fresh air may be the cause; try opening a window or door for ventilation. Another possible cause is low line pressure, in which case you should contact your local gas supplier. Lastly, a partially clogged ODS/pilot could be the issue; consider cleaning the ODS/pilot.

Why won't the burner light on my Duluth Forge Heater after the pilot is lit?
    • S
      Samantha FarmerAug 28, 2025
If the burner on your Duluth Forge Heater doesn't light after the ODS/pilot is lit, it could be due to a clogged burner orifice, which may require cleaning or replacement. Another possibility is that the inlet gas pressure is too low, in which case you should contact your local gas supplier. Finally, the burner orifice diameter might be too small, requiring replacement.

    • G
      Glenn MorenoAug 30, 2025

Why does my Duluth Forge Heater produce unwanted odors?
    • B
      Brooke SmithSep 1, 2025
Your Duluth Forge Heater might produce unwanted odors if it's burning vapors from paint, hair spray, glues, or other similar products. To resolve this, open a window to ventilate the room and stop using odor-causing products while the heater is running. A gas leak could also be the source of the odor; locate and correct any leaks. Additionally, a low fuel supply in propane models can cause unusual odors; refill the supply tank.
