General introduction
DUNIFORM
®
DF 10/DF 15 is an electrically heated,
manual tray-sealing machine designed exclusively for
sealing DUNIFORM
®
trays with fi lm.
The machine is easy to use and feature automatic fi lm
cutting. The sealing temperature can be adjusted for
easy fi lm removal or a fi xed seal.
The machine is made of steel, painted and specially
adapted for foodhandling environments, and require
only ordinary single-phase, 230 volt current.
Installing the machine
Place the DF 10/DF 15 at a suitable working level, e.g.
on a steady table or bench, or on a trolley with lockable
wheels. It should also be placed in an open area with
good lighting.
Connect the machine to a grounded/earthed 230 volt
(50-60 Hz) wall outlet.
Installing fi lm
Place the roll of fi lm on the roll holder (25) between the
two white adjustable steering rings (24) at the back of
the machine. Unwind the roll of fi lm manually from the
top so that it comes under the fi lm holder (5). Note that
it is the inside of the fi lm that is sealed to the tray.
Heating up
Make sure the machine is plugged in, then turn it on
with the main switch (14). The lamp in the main switch,
as well as the ready lamp (B), will now light up. See that
the temperature is set between 100°C and 175°C.
As soon as the machine has heated up for 15 minutes
to the set value (see section 1.5), the ready lamp (B)
will switch off. You can now start sealing the desired
number of trays.

Time & temperature settings
The normal sealing times and temperatures depend on
the type of fi lm. Based on extensive sealing tests, we
recommend the following:
Type of material Sealing temperature
APET 100-110 °C
CPET/PP 150-175 °C
1.
As the strength of the sealing achieved is correlated to
the time the lid is left closed, working with temperatures
of 100-175°C during 2-5 sec is advisable
