What causes low power in DUROMAX Engine?
    • B
      Blake ClarkJul 27, 2025
Low power in your DUROMAX Engine can be caused by several issues. There might be air in the fuel line or the fuel line is clogged; bleed air from and clean the fuel line. The main jet may not be adjusted properly, so readjust it. A clogged needle valve or main jet in the carburetor can also reduce power; clean the carburetor jets and ports. Other causes include a clogged fuel valve (clean or replace it), carbon buildup in the cylinder (clean the carbon), a dirty air cleaner (clean the filter element), or a leaking fuel line (replace the fuel line).

Why DUROMAX XP18HP stalls when running?
    • M
      Madison EdwardsAug 1, 2025
If your DUROMAX Engine stalls when running, check the spark plug. If it's damaged or dirty, replace it. If the spark plug electrode is damaged, replace the spark plug and remove any debris from the engine. Also, ensure the spark plug cap is properly connected and not damaged; inspect and replace or connect it as needed. Low engine oil can also cause stalling; add engine oil to the upper level mark. If the spark plug wire is damaged or broken, replace the ignition coil completely. Inspect the stop switch wire for shorts to the engine block, and repair or replace it if necessary. Finally, damaged or worn valve guides can cause stalling; repair or replace them.

What to do if my DUROMAX XP18HP Engine will not start?
    • C
      Christopher RuizAug 6, 2025
If your DUROMAX Engine won't start, there might not be enough fuel or the fuel valve is closed; in this case, fill the fuel tank and open the fuel valve. Alternatively, the air vent valve or fuel valve could be clogged; clear the air vent valve or clean the fuel valve. Other potential causes include an improperly adjusted or clogged main jet (readjust or clean it), a needle valve that's closed improperly or a clogged fuel hole (dismantle, repair, clean, or replace the needle valve), or a damaged or sticking float (repair the float).

Why is my DUROMAX Engine running hot?
    • W
      William WellsAug 11, 2025
Your DUROMAX Engine might be running hot due to several factors. The ignition timing could be incorrect, so readjust the ignition advance angle. Low engine oil can cause overheating, so add engine oil to the upper level mark. A clogged exhaust pipe can also contribute; clean the exhaust pipe. Other potential causes include an exhaust leak (repair the leak), a dirty or loose flywheel fan (clean or tighten the fan), worn piston components (replace worn parts), a worn connecting rod (replace the connecting rod), an engine speed set too fast (adjust to the proper value) or a worn crankshaft bearing (replace the bearing).

What causes abnormal combustion in DUROMAX Engine?
    • J
      Justin SpenceAug 16, 2025
Abnormal combustion in a DUROMAX Engine can stem from several issues. The engine might be overheating; troubleshoot the heat issue. Carbon buildup in the cylinder can also cause this problem, so clean the carbon from the cylinder. Finally, using the wrong fuel type can lead to abnormal combustion; select a proper fuel within requirements.

    Jacqueline WallsAug 21, 2025
Why does my DUROMAX XP18HP Engine have excess or abnormal noise?
    • M
      Michelle OwensAug 21, 2025
Excessive or abnormal noise in your DUROMAX Engine can be caused by various factors. Worn piston, cylinder, or piston rings may need replacement. Similarly, worn piston pins or channels, connecting rods, or crankshaft bearings should be replaced. Carbon buildup in the cylinder should be cleaned. Check and adjust the spark plug gap to the proper value. If the engine is flooded with fuel due to a sticking needle valve, repair the valve or replace the carburetor. Ensure you're using the correct fuel type. Overheating can also cause noise; troubleshoot the heat issue. Incorrect valve clearance should be adjusted, and a loose flywheel should be tightened.
