Overview

The AQUARIUS 300B is a steam sterilizer designed for medical and dental environments, offering a range of sterilization programs and user-friendly features.

Function Description:

The primary function of the AQUARIUS 300B is to sterilize instruments and materials using steam. It operates through a series of pre-vacuum, sterilization, and drying phases to ensure effective and safe sterilization. The device includes a control panel with a display that shows the current time, status (e.g., OFF, cycle progress), and date. It performs an automatic self-diagnosis upon startup to ensure proper functioning. A safety device prevents the door from opening if the sterilizer is off, during a cycle, when there is pressure in the chamber, or when an alarm occurs.

Important Technical Specifications:

The sterilizer offers various programs with specific temperature, time, pre-vacuum phases, and drying parameters:

  • Program 1 (Class B): 134°C for 5 minutes, 3 pre-vacuum phases, 10 minutes drying (6' vacuum + 4' ventilation). Suitable for solid, porous, type A and B wrapped cables. Maximum load: 4 kg solid or 1.5 kg porous.
  • Program 2 (Class B): 121°C for 20 minutes, 3 pre-vacuum phases, 11 minutes drying (7' vacuum + 4' ventilation). Suitable for solid, porous, type A and B wrapped cables. Maximum load: 4 kg solid or 1.5 kg porous.
  • Program 3 (Class S): 134°C for 3 minutes, 2 pre-vacuum phases, 5 minutes drying (3' vacuum + 2' ventilation). Suitable for unwrapped solid instruments. Maximum load: 4 kg solid.
  • Custom S1 (Disinfection): 105°C for 8 minutes, 3 pre-vacuum phases, 10 minutes drying (6' + 4'). Suitable for solid, porous, type A and B cables.
  • Custom S2 (Class B): 134°C for 5 minutes, 4 pre-vacuum phases, 12 minutes drying (7' + 5'). Suitable for solid, porous, type A and B wrapped cables. Maximum load: 4 kg solid or 1.5 kg porous.
  • Custom S3 (Class B): 121°C for 20 minutes, 4 pre-vacuum phases, 12 minutes drying (7' + 5'). Suitable for solid, porous, type A and B wrapped cables. Maximum load: 4 kg solid or 1.5 kg porous.
  • Custom S4 (Prion Class B): 134°C for 18 minutes, 3 pre-vacuum phases, 10 minutes drying (6' + 4'). Suitable for solid, porous, type A and B wrapped cables. Maximum load: 4 kg solid or 1.5 kg porous.
  • Custom S5 (Configurable by operator): Adjustable parameters including temperature (105-135°C), time (3-90 minutes), pre-vacuum phases (2, 3, or 4), and vacuum + ventilation drying (3'+2', 6'+4', 8'+6'). Load capacity depends on the set parameters.
  • Helix Test: 134°C for 3'30", 3 pre-vacuum phases, 10 minutes drying (6' vacuum + 4' ventilation). Used for Helix test pack or equivalent.
  • Bowie & Dick Test: 134°C for 3'30", 3 pre-vacuum phases, 10 minutes drying (6' vacuum + 4' ventilation). Used for B&D test pack or equivalent.
  • Vacuum Test: Temperature below 35°C. Used for an empty chamber.

The device requires demineralized water with conductivity < 15 µs. Using tap water or poor-quality water can lead to deposits and incrustations, compromising the sterilizer's performance.

Usage Features:

  1. Power On: Turn on the main switch. The display shows the time, "OFF" status, and date.
  2. Start-up: Press the POWER button. The device performs a self-diagnosis. Wait for the acoustic signal indicating the end of the self-diagnosis. The display then shows the current time, temperature, and chamber pressure. If the chamber temperature is below 35°C, "LOW" is displayed.
  3. Loading and Closing: Load the chamber with instruments, ensuring the maximum load limits (4 kg non-porous, 1.5 kg porous) are not exceeded, then close the door.
  4. Water Level Check: Verify that the minimum level indicator for the demineralized water tank and the contaminated water tank indicator are not lit. Fill the demineralized water tank if necessary until the maximum level indicator lights up.
  5. Program Selection: Press the desired program button. For programs 3 and Custom S1, which do not guarantee Class B sterilization, press and hold the START/STOP button for at least 3 seconds to initiate.
  6. End of Program: The "READY" and "STERILIZE" LEDs light up, and the device emits an acoustic signal. Press START/STOP to open the door. The instruments and chamber will be hot. The display shows temperature, pressure, and total sterilization cycle duration. The device automatically switches off 30 minutes after the program ends if the door is open or any button is pressed.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Automatic Cleaning Cycle: Perform an automatic cleaning cycle after every 60 sterilization cycles. The display will show "NEED CLEANING." Remove the basket and trays, clean them with a neutral detergent, and dry them thoroughly.
  2. Inserting a Cleaning Tablet: Place a cleaning tablet in the center of the sterilization chamber and close the door.
  3. Starting Automatic Cleaning Cycle: Simultaneously press the START and POWER buttons. The cleaning cycle lasts approximately 15 minutes. At the end of the cycle, the "READY" LED lights up, and the device switches off.
  4. Putting into Service: Turn on the sterilizer. Open the door. Empty the contaminated water tank using the drain tube. Remove the drain tube. Fill the demineralized water tank. Clean the chamber with a cloth dampened with demineralized water.
    • Caution: Be careful of hot sterilizer parts!

Warning Messages:

The device provides warning messages on the display to alert the user to potential issues:

  • OPEN DOOR: Door not opened at the end of the cycle or START command with door open. Solution: Open/close the door, press STOP, or start a new cycle.
  • DRY FAIL: Drying not completed due to manual intervention, but sterilization was completed. Solution: Press STOP, or start a new cycle.
  • BLACK OUT: Black-out during the cycle. Solution: Press POWER to exit, check the power outlet, dry the chamber, and repeat the cycle.
  • NEED CLEANING: 60 cycles performed without an automatic cleaning cycle. Solution: Perform the automatic cleaning cycle.
  • NEED SERVICE: One year since installation or over 1500 cycles without maintenance by technical service. Solution: The warning disappears after selecting a program but reappears on next power-on. Contact qualified technical service for a complete check-up.
  • cd 1: Clogged exhaust filter. Solution: Clean or replace the filter. Perform an automatic cleaning cycle.
  • cd 4: Blocked water dispenser, dirty water filter. Solution: Perform filter maintenance. Perform an automatic cleaning cycle.
  • cd 6: Clogged bacteriological filter. Solution: Replace the bacteriological filter.
  • cd 7: Vacuum phase too slow. Solution: Dry the chamber and perform an automatic cleaning cycle.
  • AL 6: Too long in the initial vacuum phase. Solution: Perform an automatic cleaning cycle.
  • AL 7: Door not correctly locked. Solution: Check if the door is correctly closed.
  • AL 8: Air in the chamber. Solution: Check the door seal. Clean the gasket.

If problems persist, contact technical support service.
