Note: If you get an error message on your Mac system stating that you can

Overview

The Dynex DX-PU965XF USB Transfer Cable is a versatile device designed for high-speed data transfer between computers. It offers broad compatibility, supporting Windows-to-Windows, Mac-to-Mac, and Windows-to-Mac (and vice-versa) connections. A key feature is its auto-launching software, which is built directly into the cable, eliminating the need for CDs or downloads.

Technical Specifications:

  • Compatibility:
    • Windows: Windows 8 (excluding RT), Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 SP3.
    • Mac: OS X v10.5 or later.
  • Processor:
    • Intel Pentium II or higher (for Windows).
    • PowerPC G4 processor or later (for Mac).
  • RAM: 512 MB or higher.
  • Hard Drive Space: At least 100 MB available.
  • Ports: Available USB port on both computers.

Usage Features:

The cable facilitates file transfer through its proprietary software, EasySuite for Windows PCs and GO!Bridge for Mac computers.

Launching the Software (Windows PCs - EasySuite Software):

  1. Connect the USB cable between the two computers. The software should automatically detect the connection.
  2. For Windows XP and 2000: The EasySuite software will open. If it doesn't, navigate to "My Computer," select the drive letter corresponding to the EasySuite cable, and double-click the EasySuite icon.
  3. For Windows 8, 7, and Vista: The Autoplay menu will appear. Click "Run EasySuite.exe" and then "Yes" to allow the program to make changes. If Autoplay doesn't open, go to "My Computer," select the drive letter of the EasySuite cable, and double-click the EasySuite icon.

Launching the Software (Mac Computers - GO!Bridge Software):

  1. Connect the USB cable between the two computers. The software will detect the connection.
  2. Click the EasySuite disc icon on your Mac's desktop. If the icon isn't visible, open Finder and select "EasySuite CD" from the list of drives and folders on the left.
  3. Click the GO!Bridge software icon to launch the Mac version of the software.
    • Note: If "Bridge is not running" is displayed, it indicates that either GO!Bridge (Mac) or EasySuite (Windows) is not open on both computers.

Transferring Files Between Computers:

Once the EasySuite or GO!Bridge software is open, two windows will appear: "Local Host" (your current computer) and "Remote Host" (the connected computer). Both software versions use the same transfer methods:

  • Option 1 (Drag and Drop): Select the file(s) on either the local or remote computer and drag them directly into the desired destination folder.
  • Option 2 (Copy and Paste): Select the file(s) using Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Mac), then paste them into the destination folder using Ctrl+V (Windows) or Command+V (Mac). Alternatively, use the "Copy" and "Paste" commands from the "Edit" menu.
    • Note for Mac users: If you encounter an error message about not being able to write files to a specific folder, choose a folder without user restrictions or consult your operating system documentation to modify write permissions.

Transferring Multiple Files Using the Dock (GO!Bridge - Mac):

For Mac users, GO!Bridge includes a "Dock" feature. You can collect multiple files in the GO!Bridge Dock and then drag them all at once to the destination, rather than transferring them individually. To display files in the Dock, click the Dock icon within the GO!Bridge interface.

Maintenance Features:

The device is designed for ease of use with minimal maintenance. The auto-launching software eliminates the need for manual updates or installations via external media. For troubleshooting or support, users are directed to visit www.dynexproducts.com.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • FCC Statement: The device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, ensuring it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any interference received. Users are cautioned that unauthorized modifications could void their authority to operate the equipment. The device has been tested and found to comply with Class B digital device limits, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations.
