POWER SUPPLY
This appliance can only be connected to a mains supply of 230 V~, 50 Hz, supplied with
protecting earth contact. Always check that the voltage of the mains supply in your
location is the same as that indicated on the specication data plate, before connecting
to the supply.
USING OF APPLIANCE
During operation, the cooler works on the principle that water evaporation results in a reduction in air
temperature, meaning cooled air is expelled.
Before use
• Unpack the appliance and remove all the packing materials.
• Inspect the appliance and the accessories carefully to verify their soundness and undamaged condition. Only
perfectly sound and damage-free appliances may be connected to the electrical mains.
1. In order to use the air cooling function of the appliance, the water reservoir has to be lled with water.
There is no need to ll the water reservoir if the appliance is being used as a ventilator, for air circulation
only. Always check that the drain plug (10) is in place before lling with water. Fill slowly, with cold water,
through the water lling hole (8) in the recess on the top of the appliance. During lling check the water level
indicator on the front of the appliance. (11). The water level must be between the MIN and MAX markings.
2. In order to increase the cooling eect, the enclosed ice pack must rst be put in the freezer compartment of a
refrigerator. The cooled ice pack is inserted into the appliance via the ice pack access panel (9).
3. Connect the mains cable of the appliance to the mains supply socket.
4. Switch on the appliance by pressing one of the speed setting switches. The ventilator works at low speed on
setting 1, at medium speed on setting 2 and at high speed on setting 3.
5. The air ow from the appliance can be varied by adjusting the angle of the louvres on the front grille.
6. The oscillating function is turned on by pressing the swing switch (4). The function is switched o by pressing
the button again.
7. Press the Cool button (3) to switch on the air cooling function. This will turn on the circulating pump and,
after a few minutes, cold and moist air will ow out. The Cool function can be switched o by pressing the
button again. Please check the water level during use. If the level drops below the MIN marking, switch o
the appliance and disconnect from the mains supply before relling the water reservoir.
8. The appliance is turned o using the OFF switch (0). When the appliance is not in use, please disconnect the
mains plug from the supply socket.
9. If the appliance is not going to be used for a long period, please drain the water from it. Please note that,
during normal use, the water must be changed every few days. Before draining the water disconnect the
appliance from the mains supply. Place a suitable container under the appliance, and pull out the drain plug
(10) by putting your hand through the ice pack access hole. Ret the drain plug after draining the water.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Warning! Before you clean the appliance it must be switched o and the mains plug must
be removed from the wall socket.
• To clean the outside surface of the appliance use a damp, lint-free cloth. Finally the cleaned surfaces must be
wiped with a dry, lint-free cloth. Take extra care to prevent ingress of water through the cover while cleaning.
Let the appliance dry completely before using again, or before packing it away, otherwise mould may form on
the inside of the appliance.
• To clean the evaporator grid, open the lid over the water lling hole and pull out the grid. Wash the grid using
a water jet.
• When cleaning the appliance, never use solvent (acetone, benzole, petrol, alcohol, etc.) as these may solve the
