Fitting notes
Before attempting any repairs it is vital to ensure that the product
is totally isolated from the mains supply and that accidental
reconnection cannot occur.
Motor replacement - removal

All screws used in DC18 are M3.5 x 16 Torx T-15 unless otherwise stated.
Assembly guide
The fitting notes contained within this service manual are separated into the following assembly
sections:
Cleanerhead
Cyclone and bin
Duct
Wand handle and
hose
Undercarriage
General notes
Motor assembly
Press the catch on the wand handle
assembly to release the wand handle assembly
from the hose assembly.

Slide the tube out of the wand handle
assembly. Once extended continue to pull to
remove the wand assembly from the top of the
duct assembly.

Yoke
All female terminal clips used in DC18 contain a locking
mechanism. The release pip will need to be activated
before separation from the male terminal can occur.
