CHAIN BRAKE
The chain brake is a device which stops the chain instantaneously if
the chain saw recoils due to kickback.
Normally, the brake is activated automatically by inertial force.
It can also be activated manually by pushing the brake lever
(Front handle guard) down toward the front.
When the brake operates, a white cone (5) pops up from the base of
the brake lever.
