Scintillation Probe
A. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Model SPA-3 scintillation probe is a rugged, water-
proof gamma detector designed for high sensitivity of
pulse-height applications.
The SPA-3 contains a 2-inch-diameter, 2-inch-long
Nal(TI) crystal, a 2-inch, 10-stage photomultiplier tube,
tube socket with a dynode resistor string, and a mag-
netic shield.
B. SPECIFICATIONS
Crystal: Nal(TI) 2-inch-diameter x 2 inches long
(5.1 cm x 5.1 cm).
Photomultiplier Tube: =2-inch-diameter, 10-dynode,
end-window with S-11 photocathode.
Operating Voltage: Variable dependent upon applica-
tion.
Maximum Voltage: + 1600 V

Sensitivity: =1200k cpm per mR/h with '*Cs
Current Drain: = 120 MQ resistance string yields 10 дА
