Guide Bar
1. Clean before using.
2. Clean the groove of the guide bar
(A) with a small screwdriver.
3. Clean oil holes (B) with a wire.
4. Invert guide bar periodically.
5. Clean the guide bar mount area
before installing the guide bar.
Sprocket
A damaged sprocket will cause
premature damage or wear of saw
chain.
When the sprocket has worn 0.5
mm (0.020 in.) or more, replace it.
Check sprocket when you install new chain. Replace it if worn.
Some tree sap and resins are corrosive. Thoroughly wash the guide
bar and sprocket areas after each use, then coat metal parts with light
oil.
Cooling System Cleaning
Check periodically.
Clogged fins will result in poor
engine cooling.
1. Remove air cleaner cover,
cylinder cover, and starter.
2. Use compressed air or wooden tool to remove dirt and dust from
between fins to let cooling air pass easily.
