What to do if my Echo CS-450 Chainsaw engine cranks but won't start?
    • D
      Dawn KellyJul 30, 2025
If your Echo Chainsaw engine cranks but struggles to start or doesn't start at all, several factors could be at play. There might be no fuel reaching the carburetor (clean or replace it). The spark plug gap may be incorrect, covered with carbon, fouled with fuel or defective (adjust to .65mm (0.026in.), clean or replace, replace plug). Ensure the switch is turned to the ON position. For issues like no fuel at the cylinder or further assistance, consult your Echo dealer.

    • K
      Kyle RodriguezAug 14, 2025
There are several reasons why your Echo Chainsaw engine might run but then die or fail to accelerate correctly. It could be due to a dirty air filter (clean or replace it), a dirty fuel filter (replace it), or a plugged fuel vent (clean or replace it). Other potential causes include a dirty or worn spark plug (clean and adjust or replace it), improper carburetor adjustment (adjust it), a dirty or plugged cooling system (clean it), or a plugged spark arrestor screen (replace it).
