Overview

The EcoSPIRITS SmartPour 1.1S is a second-generation, intelligent spirits management system designed for sustainable reuse of branded spirits bottles. It facilitates hygienic transfers of spirits to glass bottles, cocktail shakers, and serving vessels, promoting a low-carbon, low-waste, and no-single-use-glass distribution model. The device is Wi-Fi-enabled and powered by cloud-based CircularONE™ technology, integrating smart features for efficient operation and tracking.

Function Description

The SmartPour 1.1S serves as a spirits dispensing unit that pairs with ecoTOTE™ containers. Its primary function is to accurately and hygienically dispense spirits in pre-set volumes. The system is designed to simplify the process of refilling bottles and other vessels in a bar or hospitality setting, reducing the need for single-use glass bottles and minimizing waste.

The device operates by drawing spirits from an ecoTOTE™ through an inlet tube and dispensing them via a nozzle. Users can select desired dispense volumes using a touch-sensitive keypad. The SmartPour 1.1S includes intelligent technology features such as ecoTOTE™ 3.0S Verification, Wi-Fi connectivity, and CircularONE™ enablement, which likely contribute to inventory management, tracking, and ensuring authenticity of the spirits.

Usage Features

The SmartPour 1.1S is designed for user-friendly operation with a back-lit LCD display screen and a touch-sensitive user keypad.

  • Power On/Off: The device is powered on by pressing the dedicated "Power" button on the User Keypad.
  • ecoTOTE™ Loading: To begin dispensing, a filled, sealed, and undamaged ecoTOTE™ is loaded into the SmartPour. The tamper-evident seal is cut, the cap unscrewed, and the SmartPour is lowered over the ecoTOTE™, ensuring the inlet tube is properly inserted into the glass vessel. It may be necessary to bend the tube slightly to ensure it sits correctly on the corner edge of the glass vessel.
  • SmartPour Priming: After loading an ecoTOTE™, the SmartPour 1.1S emits an audible tone to confirm successful loading. The remaining volume in the ecoTOTE™ is displayed on the screen. The device needs to be primed by double-touching the closest available volume to 50 ml on the User Keypad. Any liquid dispensed during priming should be discarded.
  • Dispensing: Once primed, users can place a spirit bottle, cocktail shaker, or drinks glass under the dispense nozzle. To avoid splashing, the vessel should be close to the nozzle. Alternatively, a soft outlet hose can be attached to the dispense nozzle for bottle refilling. Double-tapping the desired volume button on the User Keypad initiates an automatic dispense of the chosen volume, which is also shown on the display screen.
  • Display Screen Information: The LCD display provides crucial information at a glance, including:
    • Remaining ecoTOTE™ Volume
    • Pouring Volume
    • Battery Indicator
    • Wi-Fi Indicator
    • Cleaning Mode Indicator
    • ecoTOTE™ Indicator
    • CircularONE™ Indicator
    • Charging Indicator
  • Keypad Functions: The touch-sensitive keypad includes:
    • Power Button
    • Cleaning & Continuous Pour Button
    • Designated Dispense Volume Buttons (1-5), which vary by regional version (Americas, EMEA, Asia Pacific) with pre-set volumes. For example, the APAC region keypad shows 15 mL, 30 mL, 45 mL, 60 mL, and 700 mL.
  • Registration: Before first use, the SmartPour 1.1S must be registered with ecoSPIRITS' CircularONE software via the SmartPour Pairing Application, available on Google Play and the App Store. This process involves logging into the application, adding the device, and connecting it to Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi indicator illuminates solid upon successful connection.
  • Charging: The SmartPour is charged using the provided USB-C Charging Cable and a compatible USB-A charger (5V/1A or 5V/2A). The charging indicator on the display screen confirms charging status.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and occasional calibration are essential for maintaining the SmartPour 1.1S's performance and hygiene.

  • Cleaning: The SmartPour 1.1S should be cleaned before its first use and whenever switching between different spirits or after extended periods of non-use.
    • Dispense Nozzle and Inlet Tube Cleaning: The stainless steel dispense nozzle and inlet tube should be washed inside and out with clean, running water and shaken dry.
    • Dispense Nozzle Assembly: The O-ring on the dispense nozzle should be dampened with water before connecting it to the SmartPour. Gently twisting the nozzle during insertion helps prevent O-ring breakage.
    • Inlet Tube Assembly: The inlet tube connects to the bottom of the SmartPour 1.1S via a push fit. Bending the end of the inlet tube slightly ensures the SmartPour sits fully on the ecoTOTE™ without interference.
    • Cleaning Cycle: An empty, clean container filled with at least two liters of hot water (40-60°C) is placed under the SmartPour, ensuring the inlet tube is submerged. The device is powered on, and the "Cleaning & Continuous Pour" button is pressed and held for five seconds to initiate a continuous flow dispense. This flow should continue until the container is empty. The dispense can be stopped by pressing the "Power" button.
  • Calibration: While pre-calibrated at the factory, recalibration may be necessary if inaccurate volume dispensing occurs due to extreme spirit viscosities, surface tensions, or normal use drift.
    • Items Required: An empty container, at least 1L of water or actual spirit, and measuring equipment (a measuring scale for weight/density or two measuring cylinders (200 ml and 1L) for volume).
    • Entering Calibration Mode: With the inlet nozzle submerged in water or spirit, the SmartPour is powered on and primed. The "Cleaning Button" is tapped rapidly eight times until a beep is heard, and the screen changes to Calibration Mode, displaying and blinking the default volume for "Button 3". The display indicates whether the unit is a Revolution Based Version or Time Based Version.
    • Small Volume Calibration (<200ml): In calibration mode, the default reference point for "Button 3" is displayed. "Button 1" increases the reference point, and "Button 2" decreases it. Each 3-reference point adjustment changes the volume by approximately 1 ml. After adjustment, tapping "Power" saves and exits. The dispensed volume for "Button 3" is then measured, and if inaccurate, the steps are repeated. Small volume buttons (<200ml) automatically recalibrate based on "Button 3"'s new reference point.
    • Big Volume Calibration (>200ml): For Revolution Based Versions, "Button 5" is touched to select the desired volume for calibration. "Button 1" increases the offset, and "Button 2" decreases it. "Power" saves and exits. The calibrated volume is then double-touched and measured, repeating if inaccurate. For Time Based Versions, "Button 5" is touched once to calibrate the reference for "200ml" (the reference point for "Button 4" and "Button 5"). "Button 1" increases dispense time, and "Button 2" decreases it. Each 1-reference point adjustment changes the volume by approximately 2 ml. "Power" saves and exits. Double-touching "Button 5" within 10 seconds dispenses 200 ml, which is then measured, repeating if inaccurate.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a guide for common issues:
    • Device Not Turning On: Check charging cable connection and indicator light. Try a different charging adapter. If not connected to power, press the RESET button (if available).
    • Device Not Dispensing Liquid: Double-tap a preset volume button rapidly. Ensure the hose is properly fitted if the device emits sounds but no liquid dispenses.
    • Leaking on Nozzle Connection: Check for two O-rings on the nozzle (thinner at the bottom, thicker on top) and ensure proper insertion with a screw/unscrew motion. A spare O-rings set is provided.
    • Inaccurate Dispenses: The unit needs calibration, as described above.
  • Repair and Replacement Process: If troubleshooting fails, the unit should be removed from service, and ecoSPIRITS tech support should be contacted for remote assistance. A replacement SmartPour can be ordered, and the malfunctioning unit sent back for diagnostics and repair.
