The EDISION picco T265 is a Digital Terrestrial Receiver, supporting DVB-T2 H.265/HEVC standards, and includes Wi-Fi support. This device is designed for receiving terrestrial television signals and offers a range of features for an enhanced viewing experience.

Device Overview and Connectivity

The receiver itself is a compact unit, measuring 126 mm in width, 88 mm in depth, and 30 mm in height. The front panel features a USB port for connecting storage devices, a display LED that shows current information, an infrared sensor for remote control commands, CH-/CH+ buttons for navigating program lists, and a POWER button to activate or deactivate the device. A protective foil is factory fitted to the front, which can be carefully removed.

The back panel provides a comprehensive set of connectivity options. The ANT IN port is used to connect the signal from a terrestrial antenna. For audio output, an S/PDIF port is available, suitable for connecting to an amplifier or audio console. Video output to an HDTV is handled by the HD OUT port, while a SCART port is provided for connecting to older TV sets (not for HD TV). Power is supplied via a DC 5V adapter connection. Additionally, an IR IN port is present for an external infrared connection, which can be useful for discreet placement of the receiver.

Initial Setup and Operation

For optimal signal reception, it is recommended that the antenna and cable installation be calibrated and inspected by a qualified professional using a digital TV-level-measuring instrument.

To set up the EDISION picco T265, first connect the receiver to your TV's HDMI input port using an HDMI cable from the HD OUT output port. Next, connect the coaxial cable from the terrestrial antenna to the ANT IN input of the receiver. Insert the batteries into the remote control (notes on remote control usage are provided separately). Finally, connect the receiver to the power supply. The device will initiate a BOOT process and become operational shortly.

Upon the first start, the device prompts the user to choose a language from a list including English, Spanish, Czech, German, Turkish, Albanian, Greek, Portuguese, Dutch, French, Polish, Bulgarian, Italian, Romanian, Slovak, Russian, Hungarian, and Slovenian.

Remote Control Features

The EDISION UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL 2in1 is a versatile remote compatible with all EDISION STBs. It comes pre-programmed with four basic functions for SAMSUNG & LG TV sets, but its four programmable buttons can be customized for any four functions of your TV.

The remote control includes several dedicated buttons:

• Power: Switches between operation and standby.
• Mute: Mutes or unmutes the audio.
• PAGE+/PAGE-: Scrolls the channel list forward or backward.
• V. FORMAT: Changes the display TV standard.
• FIND: For searching programs in lists.
• MENU: Opens the main menu and allows sub-menu selection using navigation buttons.
• INFO: Displays the information bar.
• EXIT: Stops a menu or pop-up window.
• EDV: Selects the electronic program support EDIVISION.
• RECALL: Returns to the previous channel.
• TV/RADIO: Switches between TV and Radio mode.
• Numeric Keys (0-9): Control numerical operations and change channel/service numbers directly.
• File List Icon: Displays a file list.
• USB Icon: Safe USB Removal.
• REC: Activates the recording option immediately.
• PLAY/PAUSE: Starts/pauses playback.
• Stop Icon: Stops timeshift, recording, or playing.
• Timer Icon: Allows setting the time for automatic receiver standby.
• AUDIO: Activates the audio menu.
• OPTION: Option button, switches between TV/AV mode (not in HDMI mode).
• TXT: Activates the "Subtitle/teletext" menu.
• WebTV: Web TV key.

Remote Control Learning Function

The set-top-box remote control features four learning-function keys located in the upper right-hand side TV keypad panel area. These keys can be programmed for specific TV functions, such as turning the TV ON/OFF, increasing/decreasing volume (VOL+, VOL-), and switching between TV/AV mode. The remaining 39 keys control the EDISION set-top-box.

To program a key:

1. Press the [SET] key on the upper right side TV keypad panel continuously for 5 seconds until the LED lights up and remains lit. This indicates the remote control is in learning mode.
2. Within 10 seconds, press the key on the original TV IR control that needs to be learned (e.g., the [POWER] key). The red LED will flash, indicating it is ready to receive the learning signal.
3. Aim the emission port of the original TV remote control at the front of the set-top box remote control's emission port, maintaining a distance of about 2-3 cm.
4. Press the key to be learned on the original TV remote control (e.g., the [POWER] key) continuously for 3 seconds. If the red LED flashes quickly three times and then remains lit, the set-top box remote control has successfully received the signal, completing the learning procedure for that key.
5. Release the [POWER] key of the original TV remote control.

If the copying procedure fails (the red LED blinks and stays OFF), the process should be repeated. For subsequent programmable functions, repeat steps 1-2 for each. Once programmed, the TV can be operated using the four customized keys on the set-top box remote control. During operation, the LED will flash to indicate that a signal is transmitted.
