After refuelling, open the flue damper until the logs are well alight, this will eliminate most
of the chimney condensation and distillation products. Then adjust the damper as
required.
Periodically check that the flue pipe is not blocked by falls of soot or debris.
The vitreous enamel of the casing can be cleaned with a dry duster.
The glass is cleaned with a DRY cloth or tissues (Never wet). In the event of a heavy
deposit of carbon, it must be cleaned when cold with fine wire wool and an amonia based
cleaner, care not to apply too much pressure to break the glass.
At the end of each heating season clean the unit and the flue. Remove all ashes unburnt
wood from the combustion chamber and grease the interior with vaseline. Close all doors
of the unit and the dampers. In the case of a damp environment, place absorbent crystals
in the, interior.
