Usage Features

Unfolding the Scooter:

The unfolding process of the eFOLDi Explorer Scooter is designed to be intuitive, though a little practice is recommended for speed.

  1. Preparation: Begin by standing the scooter upright in an open space, ensuring no obstructions or hazards are present.
  2. Handle and Latches: Locate the 'B' and 'C' latches. Simultaneously press and hold these latches. While holding, pull the drag/carry handle upright. This action initiates the extension of the main frame.
  3. Handlebar Release: The handlebar is released by pulling it towards the user.
  4. Handlebar and 'E' Latch: While pushing the handlebar down and inwards, release the 'E' latch. This step helps in positioning the handlebar correctly.
  5. Steering Column Lock: Pull the steering column upwards and over the carry handle until it audibly locks into place. This secures the main upright structure of the scooter.
  6. Front Wheel Release: Release the front wheel by either a sharp pull or a twisting motion. This prepares the wheel for deployment.
  7. Lowering to Ground: Carefully lower the scooter to the ground, maintaining a firm hold to prevent it from dropping.
  8. Steering Column Upright: Pull the steering column upright again.
  9. Column Key Lock: Ensure the column key locks securely into place under latch 'A'. This is a critical step for stability during operation.
  10. Seat Back: Pull the seat back into an upright position.
  11. Footpegs: Push the footpegs down to their operational position. Once these steps are completed, the scooter is ready for use. To power on the scooter, insert the key and turn it. The twist grip then controls acceleration.

Folding the Scooter:

Folding the eFOLDi Explorer Scooter is equally straightforward, designed for quick storage.

  1. Footpegs: Fold the footpegs to an upright position, tucking them away.
  2. Seat Back: Fold the seat back down.
  3. Latch 'A' Release: Press and release latch 'A'. This disengages a locking mechanism.

  5. Upright Position: Lift the scooter to an upright position, which facilitates further folding.
  6. Front Wheel Lock: Ensure the front wheel is flat and securely locked to the frame by its magnet. This prevents the wheel from moving freely during transport.
  7. Latch 'D' Release: Locate latch 'D'. While supporting the steering column, press latch 'D'.
  8. Steering Column Over Handle: Bring the steering column over the carry handle.
  9. Steering Column Lock 'E': Press the steering column inwards towards the frame until latch 'E' locks. This secures the column in its folded position.
  10. Handlebars Magnet Lock: Press the handlebars against the frame until the magnet locks them in place, preventing them from swinging loose.
  11. Latches 'B' and 'C' and Carry Handle: Press and hold latches 'B' and 'C', then fold the carry handle down. This completes the folding process, making the scooter compact and ready for transport.
