Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the Einhell TC-VC 18/20 Li S-Solo cordless wet and dry vacuum cleaner, covering its function, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Einhell TC-VC 18/20 Li S-Solo is a versatile cordless wet and dry vacuum cleaner designed for both wet and dry vacuuming applications. It operates on an 18V DC battery, offering portability and freedom from power cords. The equipment is equipped with a safety float valve (5) that closes when the maximum tank level is reached during wet vacuuming, preventing overfilling and potential damage. A chain (z) on the tank bottom helps prevent static charging during use, enhancing safety. The appliance head (3) is secured to the container (7) by locking hooks (6), ensuring a tight seal during operation. For dry vacuuming, a pleated filter (18) and a dirt bag (14) are used, while for wet vacuuming, a foam filter (15) is employed. The device also features a blow connector (9), allowing it to function as a blower by connecting the flexible hose (10) to this port. The vacuum cleaner is not suitable for vacuuming combustible, explosive, or harmful substances. It is designed for its prescribed purpose only, and any other use is considered misuse. The equipment is not intended for commercial, trade, or industrial applications.

Usage Features

The vacuum cleaner is designed for ease of assembly and operation. Before first use, it is crucial to read the operating instructions thoroughly.

Appliance Assembly:

  • Fitting the appliance head: The appliance head (3) is fastened to the container (7) using locking hooks (6). To remove it, simply open the locking hooks. When refitting, ensure the hooks lock into place correctly.
  • Fitting the castors: The castors (13) are fitted into the appropriate mountings on the underside of the tank (7) for easy mobility.
  • Fitting the filter: It is essential to always use the wet and dry vacuum cleaner with a filter. For wet vacuuming, the supplied foamed plastic filter (15) is slipped over the filter basket. For dry vacuuming, the pleated filter (18) is slipped over the filter basket (4). The pleated filter is suitable for dry-vacuuming only.
  • Assembling the dirt bag: For vacuuming fine, dry dirt, it is recommended to fit the dirt bag (14) over the vacuuming hole. This simplifies the disposal of sucked-in dust.
  • Fitting the suction hose: The flexible hose (10) is connected to the suction hose connector (8) for vacuuming or to the blow connector (9) for blowing, depending on the desired application.
  • Suction tube and nozzles: The 3-part suction tube (11) can be extended by attaching one or more sections to the flexible hose. The adapter (17) is used to connect the suction tube to the combination nozzle (12) or crevice nozzle (16).
  • Dual-purpose nozzle (12): This nozzle is used for vacuuming solids and liquids over medium to large areas.
  • Crevice nozzle (16): Ideal for vacuuming solids and liquids in corners, edges, and other hard-to-reach areas.
  • Upholstery nozzle (25): Specifically designed for vacuuming solids on upholstery and carpets.

Operation:

  • On/Off switch (2): The switch has two positions: "0" for Off and "I" for On.
  • Dry vacuuming: Use the dirt bag (14) and the pleated filter (18). Ensure filters are securely fitted.
  • Wet vacuuming: Use the foam filter (15). Check that the filter is securely fitted. During wet vacuuming, the floating safety switch (5) will close when the tank reaches its maximum level, causing the suction noise to change and become louder. At this point, the equipment must be switched off, and the tank emptied.
  • Blowing: Connect the suction hose (10) to the blow connector (9) to use the device as a blower.

Battery Charging and Indicator:

  • Charging the battery (20): Remove the battery pack from the equipment by pressing the side pushlock buttons (22). Insert the charger's power plug (21) into a socket outlet. The green LED on the charger will flash. Insert the battery pack (20) into the charger (21).
  • Battery capacity indicator (23): Press the switch (a) for the battery capacity indicator. Three LEDs show the charge status:
    • All 3 LEDs lit: Battery fully charged.
    • 2 or 1 LED(s) lit: Adequate remaining charge.
    • 1 LED flashes: Battery empty, recharge.
    • All LEDs flash: Battery pack is exhaustively discharged and defective. Do not use or charge a defective battery pack.
  • Charger indicator status: The manual provides a detailed table explaining the different LED statuses (Red LED, Green LED) on the charger, indicating "Ready for use," "Charging," "Battery charged," "Adapted charging," "Fault," and "Temperature fault," along with corresponding actions. It is important to recharge the battery promptly when performance drops and never allow it to become fully discharged to ensure long service life.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of the vacuum cleaner.

Safety First:

  • Always pull out the battery (20) before starting any cleaning or maintenance work.

Cleaning:

  • General cleaning: Keep all safety devices, air vents, and the motor housing free of dirt and dust. It is recommended to clean the equipment immediately after use.
  • Appliance head (3): Clean the appliance head with a damp cloth and some soft soap. Avoid using aggressive cleaning agents or solvents, as they can damage the plastic parts.
  • Container (7): The container can be cleaned with a damp cloth and soft soap or under running water, depending on the amount of dirt.
  • Pleated filter (18): Clean the pleated filter regularly by carefully patting it and cleaning it with a fine brush or hand brush.
  • Foam filter (15): Clean the foam filter with a little soft soap under running water and allow it to air-dry.

Servicing:

  • At regular intervals and before each use, check that the filters in the wet and dry vacuum cleaner are securely fitted.

Ordering Spare Parts:

  • When ordering spare parts, provide the model/type, article number, ID number of the equipment, and the part number of the required spare part. Information on the latest prices can be found on www.isc-gmbh.info.

Storage:

  • Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place, above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30 °C. Store the electric tool in its original packaging.

Disposal and Recycling:

  • The equipment is supplied in packaging that can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic.
  • Never place defective equipment in household refuse. It should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal in accordance with national recycling and waste disposal regulations.
  • When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fires.

This comprehensive guide ensures users can effectively operate and maintain their Einhell TC-VC 18/20 Li S-Solo vacuum cleaner, maximizing its performance and lifespan.
