11. Troubleshooting
Suspected malfunctions are often due to reasons which the user can rectify himself/herself. You should
check the machine therefore on the basis of this section. You can solve the problem quickly in most ca-
ses.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Brewing operation fails to start - The battery is not correctly
connected
- The battery is empty
- Connect correctly
- Charge the battery
The machine does not perform
on its highest level
- Battery performance is too low
- The battery is coming to the
end of its working life
- The water tank is empty
- The heating element is
defective
- Charge the battery
- Replace the battery
- Fill the water tank
- Arrange for repair by an autho-
rized service center
Water runs out of the water tank - The water tank has been
overfi lled
- Observe the recommended
quantity of water
Water runs out of the fi lter
holder
- Too much coff ee powder is
being used
- Too many coff ee pads have
been inserted
- The coff ee pads have been
wrongly positioned
- The coff ee powder has been
grounded too fi nely
- The coff ee powder has been
compacted too fi rmly
- Reduce the quantity of coff ee
powder
- Put in the correct amount
- Place the coff ee pad in the fi l-
ter holder as described in the
section “Brewing”
- Use a coarser degree of grin-
ding instead
- Fill in more loosely
