Do you have a question about the El-Björn TF 72EL EBC and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The El-Björn TF 9EL, TF 18EL, TF 36EL, TF 72EL EBC is a series of industrial drying machines designed for temporary drying and heating of rooms. These machines are constructed from powder-coated, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel sheet, ensuring durability in demanding environments. The series includes models with varying capacities, indicated by their model numbers (9EL, 18EL, 36EL, 72EL), which likely correspond to their heating or drying power.

Function Description

The machine operates by drawing in air through two filters (one filter for TF 9EL models, and additional pre-filters for extended life on other models), which then passes through an intake noise attenuator and into the fan compartment. The air is then heated by electrical heating elements (Module 2) and propelled by a fan (Module 1) through the textile air distributor (Module 3) to deliver warm, dry air over a long distance. This process effectively removes moisture from the air and surfaces in a given space.

The machine comprises three main modules:

  • Module 1 (Fan module): Includes wheels for mobility, the fan, and lifting eyes for easy transport.
  • Module 2 (Heating module): Contains the display, control card, inlet, fuses, and heating elements.
  • Module 3 (Air distributor): Responsible for directing the heated air.

The TF 9EL, TF 18EL, TF 36EL, and TF 72EL models offer different configurations:

  • TF 9EL: Features 4 heavy-duty wheels, 2 of which are lockable, 4 lifting eyes, and 1 filter.
  • TF 18EL, TF 36EL, TF 72EL: Include 4 heavy-duty wheels, 2 of which are lockable, 4 lifting eyes, and 2 filters with additional pre-filters for extended life.

Important Technical Specifications

The machines are designed for well-insulated areas or occasional use. They are available in 400 VAC configurations, with the TF 9EL also having a 230V option for the motor and air side.

Usage Features

  • Display and Controls: The machine features a clear display that shows current temperature, set temperature, fan speed, and power consumption. Navigation is done via scroll up/down buttons and a Choose/Cancel button.
  • Operating Modes: The machine supports multiple modes: Drying, Heat, and Event.
  • User Levels: There are three log-in authority levels: Administrator (A), Service (S), and User (U), allowing for different levels of access to settings.
  • Starting/Stopping: To turn on the display, press the RED ON BUTTON for 1 second. To start the drying fan, press and hold the GREEN BUTTON for 2 seconds. To switch off the drying fan, press and hold the RED BUTTON for 3 seconds. Options available when switching off include log out, pause drying fan for 30 minutes, and switch off.
  • Changing Default Settings: Accessing and modifying default settings (desired temperature, fan speed, power) requires logging in with a password. The settings can be adjusted using arrow buttons and confirmed with the GREEN button.
  • Safety Features:
    • The machine is equipped with safety measures to prevent overheating, power loss, fan failure, antifreeze issues, high humidity, and temperature set out of limits.
    • Children under the ages of 3 and 8 should be supervised when near the machine.
    • The machine should be placed on a firm, level surface, at least 0.5 m away from walls.
    • Extension cables must be marked for outdoor use and be of a suitable cross-section.
    • The machine must be connected to a power distribution box with a residual current device.
    • All electrical connections, fan motor mounting, and heating element nuts and connections must be checked regularly.
    • The machine includes a safety switch that automatically turns off the heating elements if the machine is switched off incorrectly or if the display is removed.
    • The machine is designed for temporary drying and heating of rooms. Using electrical machinery, basic safety regulations must be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shocks, burns, or other personal injury.

Maintenance Features

  • Routine Maintenance:
    • Filter Replacement: The filter pressure alarm indicates when the filter needs to be replaced. To cancel the alarm, press the green button.
    • Cleaning: Always replace the filter after use. Clean externally with a mild soap solution and a damp cloth. The display can be cleaned with glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Air-blow the inside of the machine carefully, then wipe with a damp cloth. Never use inflammable or combustible solvents near the machine.
    • Checks: Regularly check the fuses, residual current device, and heating elements. Ensure all connections are tight and that no loose screws or defective parts are present.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a list of alarms (filter pressure, overheating, power loss, fan alarm, antifreeze, humidity, temperature) and corresponding actions to take. For example, if the product has overheated, it will shut down. If there's a power loss, check for power cut, power cord failure, or tripped fuse.
  • Professional Service: All repairs to electrical parts must be performed by a qualified professional or the manufacturer. If a fault occurs, contact a qualified professional or the manufacturer.
  • Deinstallation: Disconnect the electrical cable and transport the machine.
  • Storage: The machine must always be transported upright. Before transporting the machine, fix the air distributor in its lowered position if necessary. During transportation, the machine must be anchored to the transport vehicle. The machine should only be lifted using the 4 lifting eyes on the sides of Module 1. When the machine is not in use, store it indoors where it is dry and there is no risk of freezing.
