Do you have a question about the Eldom Invest FV15060 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the ELDOM INVEST household electric water heaters, designed for floor installation. These water heaters are intended to provide hot water for large family homes.
The water heaters are designed to heat domestic water, ensuring a continuous supply for household use. They can be equipped with integrated heat exchangers, allowing them to be connected to alternative heat sources such as solar systems or local water heating systems. Some models feature an electronic control unit for managing the heating element and, in heat exchanger models, controlling the flow of the heat transfer fluid. The units are designed to operate within specific water pressure ranges and are protected against electric shock (Class I).
The water heaters are designed for floor installation. The heated water must comply with domestic water standards, specifically:
The water tanks are protected against corrosion either by a high-quality enameled coating or by being made of high-grade alloy chrome-nickel steel. Enameled tanks include special alloy anodes for additional protection. Thermal insulation is provided by hard (molded) polyurethane or polyester with an outer shell.
Models are identified by letters and numbers:
Electrical power ranges:
Installation: The water heater must be installed in a fire-safe room where the temperature does not fall below 0°C. A siphon for waste water must be present on the floor to manage any dripping from the safety valve. A minimum distance of 100 mm must be maintained between the unit and surrounding walls/ceiling for connections. The appliance must be leveled. If supplied with a transport pallet, it must be removed. For models up to 500 liters, three support feet are provided; larger models are floor-mounted using the same openings as for the transport pallet. Installation and connection must be performed by qualified persons according to the manual and local regulations. Safety components provided by the manufacturer are compulsory.
Water Supply Connection: Connection to the water supply network must be done by a qualified service company. The plumbing system must withstand water temperatures above 80°C (100°C for short periods) and pressure at least twice the appliance's working pressure. Non-metallic couplings (dielectric fittings) are mandatory for copper or dissimilar metal pipes. Models up to 500 liters include a combined safety valve (safety valve and non-return valve in one body), which must be fitted on the inlet pipe according to the flow direction arrow. Models 750 liters and above have separate safety and non-return valves. A pressure-reducing valve is required if mains pressure exceeds 0.5 MPa. It is forbidden to install shut-off fittings between the combined valve and the water heater. A draining system for dripping water from the safety valve is recommended. All unused tube outlets and thermostat/thermomanometer outlets must be closed with appropriate equipment.
Electrical Connection: The water heater must be filled with water before connecting to the electrical supply. Single-phase models (230V~) use a three-wire connection (Fig. 5), while three-phase models (400V 3N~) use a five-wire connection (Fig. 6). All wire ends must be properly connected to the main power switchboard and the water heater connection point. The protective conductor must not be interrupted. Conductor cross-sections must be at least 2.5 mm² for up to 9 kW, and 4-6 mm² for 12 kW. A 16A fuse (for 9 kW) or 25A fuse (for 12 kW) must be installed in each phase. A device providing full disconnection of all poles in overvoltage category III is mandatory in the heater's electrical circuit.
Operation: Once installed and connected, the water heater should be tested for functionality. Do not operate if there is a risk of freezing. Single-phase heaters are switched on by pressing the 'I' button, and temperature is adjusted with a knob. An ECO sector on the thermostat knob indicates optimal heating with reduced losses. Three-phase heaters are switched on via an external device. The temperature indicator on the casing shows approximate water temperature. For models with heat exchangers, specific instructions for their use are provided.
Corrosion Protection: Enameled tanks have an anode protector (anode) made of a special alloy, which is a consumable part with an average lifespan of 3 years. Regular inspection and replacement of the anode by a qualified specialist are crucial for effective corrosion protection. Chrome-nickel steel tanks ensure long life through material selection and construction.
Service, Prevention, Maintenance: In areas with hard water, the water tank should be cleaned of accumulated limestone at least every two years (more frequently for very hard water). Deposits on enamel should be wiped with a dry cotton cloth, not scraped. The safety valve must be checked regularly (every two weeks) by lifting its lever to ensure proper flow. If no water flows or the flow is weak, it indicates a malfunction, and the valve may be clogged. Using a heater with a defective safety valve is strictly prohibited. If the room temperature may fall below 0°C, the water must be drained. The outer casing and plastic parts should be cleaned with a damp soft cotton cloth, avoiding aggressive substances. Cleaning with a steam generator is forbidden. The metal plate with technical data and serial number must be preserved for identification.
Failures: If the water heater does not heat water, check the external disconnection device, switch key (for single-phase) or thermostat knob setting. If the electrical supply is in order but the water is not heating, disconnect the heater and contact an authorized service company. If water flow from taps is weak or absent, check the stopcock, central water supply, and mixer filters. For models with electronic control boards, error messages are displayed, and specific troubleshooting steps are provided in the supplementary manual. In all cases of failure, disconnect the heater and contact an authorized service company.
