TROUBLESHOOTING
Introduction
If a fault occurs in SMS-954, the indicators on the front side of the unit will show that
something is wrong. Check what each lamp means and rectify the fault, if any. If the fault
cannot be rectified = restore the factory settings of the unit in accordance with the instructions
below.
• POWER indicator (green)
Lit:
The AC adapter is connected.
Flashing:
The AC adapter is disconnected, the backup battery is activated.
Off:
Recharging process. The battery has been depleted and has to be recharged
for 24-48 hours. All the functions of the remote control work normally for
the time recharging is in progress.
• GSM indicator (red)
Lit:
No GSM reception / SIM card error / SIM card not inserted.
Flashing:
Flashing: Normal / GSM reception.
• STATUS indicator (orange)
Flashing:
Alarm, low temperature
.
Off:
Normal.
Factory Settings
Follow steps 1-5 below to restore the unit to its factory settings.
Step 1: Disconnect the AC adapter and turn off the on/off switch under the service cover.
Step 2: Press and hold test buttons while at the same time
connecting the AC adapter.
Step 3: The green and orange LED indicators start to flash.
Step 4: Release both buttons, green LED indicator is lit and orange
LED indicator is turned off.
Step 5: SMS-954 has now restored its factory settings.
Low Temperature
Should the temperature drop below the set temperature alarm value, the orange STATUS LED
indicator will begin to flash. If the temperature alarm has not been restored within 3 minutes,
the following text message will be sent to all programmed phone numbers:
Received SMS:
”Low Temperature”
Battery Fault
SMS-954 is equipped with a rechargeable backup battery that lasts for 20 hours after being
fully recharged. When the level of the rechargeable battery is low, the following text message
will be sent to all programmed phone numbers:
Received SMS:
”Battery Fault”
Battery Restored
When the rechargeable battery has been fully charged, the following text message will be sent
to all programmed phone numbers:
Received SMS:
”Battery Restored”
AC Power Fault
If the power supply should fail or if the AC adapter is disconnected, the green POWER LED
indicator will start to flash. If battery power is activated and the power supply has not been
restored within an hour, the following text message will be sent to all programmed phone
numbers:
Received SMS:
”AC Power Fault”
AC Power Fault Restored
When the power supply is restored and maintained for at least 1 hour, the following text
message will be sent to all programmed phone numbers:
Received SMS:
”AC Power Fault Restored”
