USER MANUAL
INTRODUCTION
AC01 adapter is made for electric vehicles charging on classic domestic electric socket. Thanks to AC01 adapter, it is
now possible to charge these vehicles on public charging stations having Type 2 socket (IEC 62196). The adapter sends
a “vehicle connected” and “vehicle ready to charge” signal to the public charging station. This supplies power to the
domestic Schuko socket of the adapter.
START CHARGING:
1. Plug the adapter to the Type 2 socket from the public
charging station.
2. Turn A switch ON. Charging station receives a mes-
sage “vehicle connected” and locks the adapter (if it
has a locking system).
3. Turn B switch ON. Charging station receives a mes-
sage “vehicle ready to charge”.
4. Charging station starts providing current to the elec-
tric domestic socket from the adapter.
5. Connect vehicle cable to the electric domestic socket
of the adapter in order to charge.
END CHARGING:
1. Disconnect vehicle from adapter.
2. Turn B switch OFF. Charging station stops supply-
ing power.
3. Turn A switch OFF. Charging station releases the
adapter (if it has a locking system).
4. Unplug the adapter from the charging station.
5. Have a nice trip :)

Remark: Some charging station do not require to follow this procedure. In such case, they start charging when the
adapter is plugged in with A and B switches already ON.

The Electric-Star AC01 is a Type 2 to domestic socket adapter designed to enable electric vehicle charging from public charging stations equipped with Type 2 sockets (IEC 62196). This adapter facilitates the connection of an electric vehicle's domestic charging cable to a public Type 2 charging point, effectively converting the public infrastructure for use with standard domestic plugs. The AC01 adapter is engineered to send the necessary "vehicle connected" and "vehicle ready to charge" signals to the public charging station, thereby initiating power supply to the integrated domestic Schuko socket. This allows EV owners to utilize a wider range of charging locations, particularly those with Type 2 infrastructure, for their vehicles that typically charge via a domestic socket.

Usage Features:

The AC01 adapter features a straightforward operational procedure for both starting and ending a charging session.

Starting a Charge:

1. Plug in the adapter: Insert the AC01 adapter into the Type 2 socket of the public charging station.
2. Activate Switch A: Turn the "A" switch on the adapter to the ON position. This action signals to the charging station that a vehicle is connected, and if the station has a locking system, it will secure the adapter.
3. Activate Switch B: Turn the "B" switch on the adapter to the ON position. This further signals to the charging station that the vehicle is ready to receive a charge.
4. Power supply initiation: Upon receiving the "vehicle ready to charge" signal, the charging station will begin supplying current to the electric domestic socket integrated into the adapter.
5. Connect vehicle: Connect your electric vehicle's charging cable to the domestic socket on the AC01 adapter to commence charging.

Ending a Charge:

1. Disconnect vehicle: Unplug your vehicle's charging cable from the adapter's domestic socket.
2. Deactivate Switch B: Turn the "B" switch on the adapter to the OFF position. This action signals to the charging station to cease supplying power.
3. Deactivate Switch A: Turn the "A" switch on the adapter to the OFF position. This will prompt the charging station to release the adapter, particularly if it has a locking mechanism.
4. Unplug adapter: Remove the AC01 adapter from the public charging station.
5. Enjoy your trip: The charging session is complete.

Important Usage Remark: Some charging stations may not require strict adherence to this step-by-step procedure. In such cases, charging might initiate automatically when the adapter is plugged in with both "A" and "B" switches already in the ON position.

Overheating Protection:

The AC01 adapter incorporates a high-quality Schuko domestic socket designed to prevent overheating, even during prolonged continuous operation at 16A. However, if a low-quality Schuko plug is used, overheating may still occur. To mitigate this, the AC01 adapter is equipped with a built-in temperature sensor. In the event of detected overheating, the adapter will send a signal to the charging station, requesting a shutdown of the power supply. Once the system has cooled down sufficiently, the adapter automatically transmits a new instruction to the charging station to restart the power supply. This protective cycle can repeat as many times as necessary to ensure safe operation.

Compatibility:

The "Standard" version of the AC01 adapter is not compatible with charging stations that have their own integrated cable with a Type 2 plug. Users should ensure the charging station has a Type 2 socket for the adapter to be compatible.

Warning: Users are advised not to draw more than 16A from the adapter to ensure safe and optimal performance.

Maintenance Features (Warranty Information):

The AC01 adapter comes with a warranty that covers repair or replacement if a defect is determined within two (2) years after purchase on all components. To be eligible for warranty service, the product must be returned within the warranty period, and the original consumer purchaser must meet specific conditions:

• The product must not have been modified or altered by an unauthorized source.
• The product must have been used in accordance with the user manual.

The warranty specifically excludes coverage for:

• Damages resulting from improper use.
• Accidental or intentional damage.
• Misuse, abuse, corrosion, or neglect.
• Product impairment due to severe natural conditions, including excessive hail storms, lightning strikes, tornados, flooding, ice, or other natural occurrences.
• Damage incurred due to improper packaging during return shipment.

Any labor costs associated with troubleshooting, repair, or replacement of the product that are not covered by the warranty will be charged to the original consumer purchaser. Additionally, all shipping costs for warranty-related repairs or replacements are the responsibility of the original consumer purchaser.
