Overview

This document is a user manual for Electrolux Professional Washer Extractors, models WB6-13 and WB6-18, featuring the Compass Pro control system (Type W3...). It provides comprehensive information on safety, program descriptions, handling, maintenance, and disposal.

Function Description

The Electrolux Professional Washer Extractors are designed for commercial and industrial water-wash of textiles. They are equipped with various programs adapted for different uses, including normal color, normal white, delicate, handwash, wool, rinse, drum rinse, heavy soil, and disinfection. Specialized programs for markets like hospitals (Hygiene and Hospital groups) are also available, designed to meet specific standards and recommendations. The machine automatically adapts the program to the load after weighing it with an extraction, aiming for optimal results.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Maximum Load (dry cloth):
    • WB6-13: 14 kg
    • WB6-18: 20 kg
  • A-weighted Emission Sound Pressure Level at Working Stations:
    • Wash (WB6-13, WB6-18): <70 dB(A)
    • Extraction (WB6-13, WB6-18): <70 dB(A)
  • Water Pressure:
    • Maximum inlet water pressure: 1000 kPa
    • Minimum inlet water pressure: 50 kPa
  • Electrical Connection: The appliance requires a multi-pole switch for disconnection from the supply mains, providing full disconnection under overvoltage category III. Instructions for adjusting to different rated voltages/frequencies are in the installation manual.
  • Installation: The appliance should not be installed where the public has access in certain countries (AT, BE, BG, HR, CY, CZ, DK, EE, FI, FR, DE, GR, HU, IS, IE, IT, LV, LT, LU, MT, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SK, SI, ES, SE, CH, TR, UK). For other countries, it is intended for household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, and other residential environments, or communal use in blocks of flats/launderettes.
  • Water Hoses: Must be connected with new water hoses; re-used hoses are not permitted.

Usage Features

  • Loading: The machine features a dirty side loading door and a clean side unloading door. The dirty side door opens only when the clean side door is closed and locked. The inner drum can be rotated and locked for loading. Inner loading doors have a safety latch mechanism. The machine should be completely but loosely filled.
  • Detergent: Dedicated compartments for softener (liquid), main wash (liquid), pre-wash (powder or liquid), and main wash (powder) are provided.
  • Program Selection: Programs can be selected by turning a control knob or using quick selection buttons (if programmed). Options can also be selected this way.
  • Starting a Program: Pressing the control knob starts the machine.
  • Additional Functions (accessed via control knob/start button menu):
    • Stop Function: Allows stopping the machine during a program run.
    • Pause: Pauses an ongoing program. The door can be opened if the water level is not too high.
    • Changing a Program After Start: Allows selecting a new program after a program has already started.
    • Rapid Advance: Displays program steps, allowing selection of a desired step to advance to.
    • End a Program: Terminates the current program, drains water, and unlocks the door.
    • Delayed Start: Allows setting a specific day and time for a program to start.
    • Status: Displays current water temperature, water level, and drum speed.
    • Statistics: Shows total run hours and trip run hours.
    • Auto Restarts: Sets the number of automatic restarts for a selected program.
  • Program End: An indicating lamp on the clean side shows when the unloading door can be opened. The clean side door unlocks only after successful program completion. If a program was rapid advanced or an error occurred, the dirty side loading door unlocks, requiring the outer loading door to be opened and closed, and a program rerun to ensure proper wash. Opening the unloading door after a sluice program can lead to cross-contamination; adding a sluice step to a "normal" program is recommended instead of using a sluice program alone.

Maintenance Features

  • General: Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent damage.
  • Maintenance Reminder: The display may show "TIME FOR MAINTENANCE" to prompt maintenance. The machine can still be used, but the message will reappear until service is performed.
  • Daily Maintenance:
    • Verify doors lock during programs and the clean side unloading door opens only after completion.
    • Check for door leaks.
    • Clean doors, door glass, and door gasket.
    • Clean external parts.
  • Detergent Container: Clean regularly to prevent clogging from detergent residue.
  • Deliming: Use a special machine cleaning program or a high-temperature (95°C) program with a deliming agent (e.g., citric acid).
  • Drain: Regularly check drain connections, joints, and pipes for lint and dust. Clean with a small brush. Ensure connections are tight after remounting.
  • Water Inlet: Regularly check and clean the filter at the water inlet. Demount the hose and pull out the filter (A). Ensure the filter is in position and connections are tight after remounting.
  • Qualified Service Personnel Maintenance (Once a year):
    • Inspect the machine's interior during a wash cycle for leaks.
    • Check the function of the inner loading door, springs, and locking device.

Safety Precautions

  • Servicing by authorized personnel only.
  • Use only authorized spare parts, accessories, and consumables.
  • Use only detergents for water-wash of textiles; no dry cleaning agents.
  • Do not bypass the door lock.
  • Report faults immediately.
  • Do not modify the appliance.
  • Disconnect power before service or part replacement.
  • Ensure proper disconnection with a locking system if direct plug removal is not possible.
  • Install a multi-pole switch for installation and service.
  • Ensure base openings are not obstructed.
  • Place the machine at room temperature for 24 hours before first use to prevent condensation damage.
  • Read instructions before use (indicated by a symbol).
  • Caution: High voltage (indicated by a symbol).
