Troubleshooting – What to check when problems occur
Problem Possible Cause Remedy
Unit does not operate.
x No electrical power to the unit.
x Cycle selector switch set
improperly.
x Low air temperature around unit.
x Make sure power cord is plugged in. Check for
blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
x Make sure cycle selector switch is set to ICE/ON.
x Surrounding air temperature must be at least
45°F (7°C).
Unit runs but no ice is produced.
x No water being supplied to the
unit.
x Check to see that water is connected and turned
on to the unit.
Unit runs but produces very little ice.
x Dirty condenser coils.
x High air temperature around unit.
x Scale and mineral buildup in unit.
x Inadequate airflow at the front of
the unit.
x Cleaning cycle recently performed
x Clean the condenser. See Maintenance.
x Surrounding air temperature of over 90°F (32°C).
Low ice production at high temperatures is
normal.
x Clean unit. See Maintenance.
x Remove items blocking airflow.
x Allow unit to reach the set temperature to produce
ice normally
Ice is slow to release or does not
release from the evaporator.
x Ice-making system is dirty.
x Unit is not level.
x Low air temperature around the unit.
x Run unit through automatic clean cycle. See
Maintenance.

x Surrounding air temperature must be at least 50°F
(10°C).
