This document describes the Electrolux ESC87300SX dishwasher, providing comprehensive information on its functions, usage, and maintenance.
The dishwasher is designed for cleaning household-type dishes and tableware in an indoor environment. It can be used in various settings such as offices, hotel guest rooms, bed & breakfast guest rooms, and farm guest houses, provided the usage does not exceed average domestic levels. The appliance has a maximum capacity of 13 place settings.
Function Description:
The ESC87300SX dishwasher offers a range of programmes tailored to different load types and soil levels. These include:
- ECO: The standard programme for normal soil, providing efficient water and energy consumption. It includes prewash, dishwashing at 50°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 55°C, drying, and AirDry.
- 160min: For normal to heavy, dried-on soil, with prewash, dishwashing at 60°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 60°C, drying, and AirDry.
- 90min: For normal, lightly dried-on soil, featuring dishwashing at 60°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 55°C, drying, and AirDry.
- 60min: For fresh, lightly dried-on crockery and cutlery, with dishwashing at 60°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 50°C, drying, and AirDry.
- 30min: For fresh crockery and cutlery, including dishwashing at 50°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 45°C, and AirDry.
- AUTO: This programme automatically senses the degree of soil and quantity of items, adjusting temperature, water, energy consumption, and duration accordingly. It includes prewash, dishwashing between 50-60°C, intermediate rinse, final rinse at 60°C, drying, and AirDry.
- Cleaning: A dedicated programme for cleaning the appliance interior effectively, removing limescale and grease buildup. It should be run without any load.
- Rinse Off: A quick rinse programme to remove food remains and prevent odours, without the use of detergent.
The dishwasher also features several options to enhance cleaning and drying:
- GlassCare: Protects delicate items, especially glassware, by preventing rapid temperature changes and reducing the wash temperature to 45°C.
- ExtraPower: Improves dishwashing results by increasing wash temperature and duration.
- ExtraHygiene: Provides better cleaning by maintaining a temperature between 65°C and 70°C for at least 10 minutes during the final rinsing phase.
- AirDry: Automatically opens the appliance door during the drying phase to improve drying results and reduce energy consumption. The duration of the drying phase and door opening time vary by programme and options.
Usage Features:
The control panel includes an on/off button, programme touch button, programme indicators, display, delay touch button, option touch button, indicators for salt, rinse aid, washing, rinsing, drying, delay, GlassCare, ExtraPower, and ExtraHygiene, and a start touch button.
Before first use, it is crucial to:
- Adjust the water softener level according to the local water hardness. The water softener removes minerals from the water supply, which can negatively affect washing results. The higher the water softener level, the higher the water and energy consumption, and the longer the programme duration.
- Fill the salt container with dishwasher salt. The salt recharges the resin in the water softener.
- Fill the rinse aid dispenser. Rinse aid helps dry dishes without streaks and stains. The quantity can be adjusted between levels 1 and 6.
- Run a programme without detergent or dishes to remove processing residuals.
To start a programme:
- Activate the appliance by pressing the on/off button.
- Close the appliance door.
- Select the desired programme using the 'P' button. The display will show the programme duration.
- Set any desired options.
- Press the start button.
The appliance has an Auto Off function that automatically switches it off after a programme is complete or after 5 minutes if no programme was started, to save energy.
The ComfortLift basket mechanism allows the lower rack to be lifted to the second rack level for easier loading and unloading of dishes. To use it, pull the rack out by the basket handle (not the trigger handle) to lift it. To lower it, push the rack down. If the basket is empty or half-loaded, press the basket down.
For optimal cleaning and drying results:
- Load the dishwasher to its full capacity.
- Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand.
- Remove larger food residues from dishes.
- Arrange items in baskets so they do not touch or cover each other.
- Put hollow items with openings facing downwards.
- Place light items in the upper basket and ensure they do not move freely.
- Use dishwasher detergent, rinse aid, and salt separately or multi-tablets, following packaging instructions. Adjust detergent dosage based on water hardness.
- Unload baskets only after tableware has cooled down, starting with the lower basket.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is essential for optimal performance. Before any maintenance, deactivate the appliance and disconnect it from the mains supply.
- Internal Cleaning: Clean the interior with a soft damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products, sharp tools, or strong chemicals. Wipe the door and rubber gasket weekly. Use a dishwasher cleaning product every two months to prevent grease and limescale buildup.
- External Cleaning: Clean the exterior with a moist soft cloth and neutral detergents.
- Filter Cleaning: The filter system consists of three parts.
- Turn filter (B) counterclockwise and remove it.
- Remove filter (C) from filter (B).
- Remove flat filter (A).
- Wash all filters under running water.
- Ensure no food residues remain in the sump.
- Put flat filter (A) back, ensuring it is correctly positioned.
- Reassemble filters (B) and (C).
- Put filter (B) back into flat filter (A) and turn clockwise until it locks. Incorrect filter position can lead to poor washing results.
- Spray Arm Cleaning: The lower, upper, and ceiling spray arms should be cleaned regularly to prevent clogging.
- Lower Spray Arm: Pull it upwards to remove, wash under running water, and use a thin pointed tool to clear holes. Press downwards to reinstall.
- Upper Spray Arm: Pull out the upper basket. Press the spray arm upwards and turn clockwise to detach. Wash under running water, clearing holes with a pointed tool. Press upwards and turn counterclockwise to reinstall.
- Ceiling Spray Arm: Move the upper basket to the lowest level. Turn the mounting element counterclockwise and pull the spray arm downwards to detach. Wash under running water, clearing holes with a pointed tool. Insert the mounting element into the spray arm and fix it in the delivery tube by turning clockwise to reinstall.
The appliance has an internal lamp that illuminates when the door is open or the appliance is switched on with the door open, and turns off when the door is closed or after some time to save energy. For lamp replacement, contact an Authorised Service Centre.
