3. BEFORE FIRST USE
3.1 SelectingaLocation
Important
1. Dehumidiermustbeoperatedinan
enclosedareatobemosteective.
Closealldoors,windows,andother
outsideopeningstotheroom.The
eectivenessofthedehumidier
dependsontherateatwhichnew
moisture-ladenairenterstheroom.
2. Placedehumidierinalocationthat
doesnotrestrictairowthroughthe
frontoftheunit.
3. Adehumidieroperatingina
basementwillhavelittleornoeect
indryinganadjacentenclosedstorage
area,suchasacloset,unlessthere
isadequatecirculationofairinand
outofthearea.ltmaybenecessary
toinstallaseconddehumidierinthe
enclosedareaforsatisfactorydrying.
4. Thedehumidiermustbeinstalledon
aleveloorthatwillsupportitwitha
fullbucketofwater.
5. Thereshouldbeaminimumof
12inchesclearancearoundthe
dehumidier.
3.2 HowItWorks
Whentheunitisstarted,thefanbegins
topullmoisture-ladenairacrossthe
dehumidifyingcoils.Thecoilscondense
ordrawmoisturefromtheair,andair
owsintotheroomasdry,warmair.
Moistureremovedfromairiscollectedin
abucketonthefrontofthedehumidier.
Theunitisdesignedtooperatebetween
5°C(41°F)and35°C(96°F).Theunit
willnotworkproperlyifthetemperature
isoutofthistemperaturerange,or
theperformanceoftheunitwillfall
greatly.The“Compressor”circuithasan
automatic3minutetimedelayedstartif
theunitisturnedoandonquickly.This
preventsoverheatingofthecompressor
andpossiblecircuitbreakertripping.
Makesurethetankisttedcorrectly
otherwiseunitwillnotturnon.
