Function Description
The Electrolux LFG225S is a cooker hood designed for domestic use above hobs, cookers, and similar cooking devices. Its primary function is to extract smoke, steam, and cooking odours from the kitchen environment, ensuring good air ventilation. The appliance features a control panel with a light switch to turn the cooking surface illumination on and off, a fan speed switch to adjust the extraction power, and an indicator to show when the hood is operating. The fan speed can be adjusted to three levels, suitable for various cooking intensities:
- Speed 1: For heating up food or cooking with covered pots.
- Speed 2: For cooking with covered pots on multiple cooking zones or burners, or gentle frying.
- Speed 3: For boiling and frying large quantities of food without a lid, or cooking on multiple cooking zones or burners.
The hood is designed to operate independently of its lighting function.

Usage Features
The cooker hood is straightforward to operate. Users can select the desired fan speed by moving the fan speed switch to one of the three available levels. The light switch controls the illumination of the cooking surface independently of the fan. It is recommended to leave the hood operating for approximately 15 minutes after cooking to ensure complete extraction of fumes and odours. The appliance is intended for cooking purposes only and should not be used as a storage surface. Users are advised not to flambé under the appliance and to keep flames or heated objects away from fats and oils during cooking and frying to prevent fire risks.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of the LFG225S cooker hood.
- Grease Filters: These filters must be cleaned regularly, at least every two months, to prevent the accumulation of fat and other residues, which can pose a fire risk. Grease filters can be washed in a dishwasher, set to a low temperature and a short cycle. Discolouration of the grease filter after washing is normal and does not affect performance. To remove the grease filters, press the handle of the mounting clip on the filter panel, tilt the front of the filter downwards, and pull it out. Reinstallation is the reverse process.
- Charcoal Filters (if applicable): The charcoal filter is not washable and cannot be regenerated. Its saturation time varies depending on cooking type and frequency. It must be replaced approximately every 4-6 months, or more frequently with heavy usage.
- Appliance Cleaning: The surface of the appliance should be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild detergent to prevent deterioration of the surface material. Abrasive detergents, brushes, steam cleaners, water sprays, or sharp metal scrapers should not be used. The interior of the appliance should also be cleaned with a cloth.
- Lamp Replacement: The lamp cover has two slots on each side. A flat, non-sharp plastic tool can be used to gently remove the lamp cover. After ensuring the light bulb has cooled, it can be replaced with a new one matching the specified technical details (E14, 4W, 220-240V). The lamp cover is then mounted back. Before replacing the lamp, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the electricity supply to avoid electric shock. Protective gloves are recommended during lamp replacement.
The manual emphasizes several safety warnings:
- Children and Vulnerable Persons: The appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above and persons with reduced capabilities if supervised and instructed. Children under 8 or with extensive disabilities must be continuously supervised. Children should not play with the appliance or perform cleaning/maintenance without supervision. All packaging should be kept away from children.
- General Safety: Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before any maintenance. Accessible parts may become hot during use. Only use supplied fixing screws.
