Overview

This document serves as a user manual for an Electrolux Cooker Hood, model LFP326S, providing comprehensive instructions for its installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The appliance is designed for domestic use above hobs, cookers, and similar cooking devices, specifically for single household use in an indoor environment. It can also be used in various commercial settings like offices, hotel guest rooms, bed & breakfast guest rooms, and farm guest houses, provided the usage levels do not exceed average domestic levels.

Function Description

The Electrolux Cooker Hood LFP326S is primarily designed to extract smoke, steam, and cooking odors from the kitchen environment, ensuring better air quality. It features a fan with three speed levels and an integrated lamp to illuminate the cooking surface. The fan speeds are controlled via a simple push-button interface, allowing users to adjust the extraction power according to their cooking needs. The lamp operates independently of the fan, providing flexible lighting options.

Usage Features

Operating the cooker hood is straightforward. To activate the hood, the user needs to pull out the drawer by more than 5 cm, which exposes the control panel. The control panel consists of four buttons: three for fan speed selection (First Speed, Second Speed, Third Speed) and one for the lamp (Lamp).

  • Fan Speed Control:

    • First Speed (0|1 button): This is the lowest fan speed, recommended for heating up food or cooking with covered pots. Pressing this button activates the fan at the first speed level.
    • Second Speed (2 button): This speed is suitable for cooking with covered pots on multiple cooking zones or burners, and for gentle frying.
    • Third Speed (3 button): This is the highest fan speed, ideal for boiling and frying large quantities of food without a lid, or when cooking on multiple cooking zones or burners simultaneously.
    • The hood remembers the last fan speed setting when the drawer is closed. When the drawer is pulled out again, the hood will operate at that previously selected speed level.
    • To turn off the fan, the user can press the 0|1 button again or simply close the hood drawer.
  • Lamp Control (4 button): The lamp button allows users to turn the lights on and off, providing illumination for the cooking area. The light function is independent of the fan operation, meaning it can be used even when the fan is off, and closing the drawer does not affect the hood light.

  • Recommended Usage: It is advised to leave the hood operating for approximately 15 minutes after cooking to ensure all residual smoke and odors are effectively removed from the kitchen.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of the cooker hood, as well as for safety. The manual emphasizes the importance of cleaning the appliance and its filters regularly to prevent the accumulation of grease and other residues, which can pose a fire risk.

  • General Cleaning:

    • The appliance surfaces should be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild detergent.
    • After cooking, any hot parts of the appliance should be allowed to cool down, then dried with a clean cloth or paper towels to prevent stains.
    • Abrasive detergents, brushes, steam cleaners, water sprays, harsh abrasive cleaners, or sharp metal scrapers should not be used for cleaning the surface. Only neutral detergents are recommended.
    • The interior of the appliance should also be cleaned with a cloth.
  • Grease Filter Cleaning:

    • Grease filters must be cleaned regularly, at least every two months, to remove grease deposits.
    • Removal: To clean a filter, the user needs to press the handle of the mounting clip on the filter panel underneath the hood, then slightly tilt the front of the filter downwards and pull it out. This process should be repeated for all filters.
    • Cleaning: The filters can be cleaned using a sponge with non-abrasive detergents or in a dishwasher. If using a dishwasher, it should be set to a low temperature and a short cycle. Discoloration of the grease filter after dishwasher cleaning is normal and does not affect its performance.
    • Re-installation: To mount the filters back, the removal steps should be followed in reverse order.
  • Charcoal Filter Replacement (if applicable):

    • The charcoal filter is not washable and cannot be regenerated. It must be replaced approximately every 4 to 6 months, or more frequently with heavy usage, as its saturation time depends on the type of cooking and the regularity of grease filter cleaning.
    • Replacement Process:
      1. First, remove the grease filters as described above.
      2. Then, turn the charcoal filter counterclockwise and pull it out.
      3. To install a new charcoal filter, reverse these steps.
    • It is essential to replace charcoal filters at least every four months.
  • Lamp Replacement:

    • The appliance is equipped with an LED lamp and a separate control gear (LED driver).
    • Lamp replacement should only be carried out by a qualified technician. In case of a malfunction, users are advised to refer to the "Service" section in the safety instructions.

The manual also includes important safety information, emphasizing that only qualified persons should install the appliance and that all electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician. It warns against using damaged appliances, operating the appliance with wet hands, or using it for purposes other than cooking. Proper ventilation in the room is crucial to prevent the backflow of gases from other fuel-burning appliances. The minimum distance between the hob surface and the lower part of the appliance must be maintained as specified in the installation instructions, typically at least 65 cm.
