The Electrolux Trilobite is an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner designed for household use, aiming to simplify the cleaning process by operating automatically. Its design is inspired by the ancient trilobite arthropod, known for its hard back and bottom-feeding habits.
The Trilobite navigates rooms using harmless ultrasound, similar to how bats navigate in the dark. It employs advanced built-in sensors to scan the room, detect obstacles, and avoid falling. When its battery charge falls below a specific level, it automatically returns to its charger. Once fully charged, it resumes cleaning until the room is complete, then returns to the charger and switches off.
The device offers three vacuuming programs:
Charging: The Trilobite is not fully charged upon delivery and requires an initial two-hour charge. The battery charger should be placed on the floor against a wall, with a free space of 0.2 meters to its right. An audible signal and a battery symbol on the display indicate charging status. The battery indicator on the display shows capacity during vacuuming and charging. The charging process should ideally not be interrupted. If the power to the charger is interrupted for more than 30 seconds, and the Trilobite was not manually placed on the charger, it will leave the charger, perform a brief spin, and then reconnect.
Magnetic Strips: These serve as "virtual walls" to block off areas like door and wall openings, staircases, and landings. They are crucial for correct operation and safety, preventing the Trilobite from falling down stairs or entering restricted zones. Magnetic strips should be affixed securely to the floor, especially on carpets with a pile depth of less than 15 mm. They should not be placed at an angle less than 90 degrees.
