      Pamela HaynesAug 20, 2025
If you notice a gas odor even when the control knob is in the OFF position, it could be due to a gas leak. You should locate and correct all leaks. Alternatively, the control valve may be defective, requiring you to contact customer service.

Why does my EmberGlow TCVFM18NS shut off while I'm using it?
    • T
      Tammy BestAug 22, 2025
Your EmberGlow Gas Heater might be shutting off during use because not enough fresh air is available; try opening a window or door for ventilation. It could also be due to low line pressure, in which case you should contact your local gas supplier. Another possibility is that the ODS/pilot is partially clogged; consider cleaning it.

      Corey JacksonAug 25, 2025
If you notice a gas odor during combustion, it could be due to foreign matter between the control valve and burner, requiring a qualified service technician to remove it. Alternatively, there could be a gas leak that needs to be located and corrected.

Why is there a yellow flame on my EmberGlow TCVFM18NS Gas Heater?
    • K
      Kimberly KellyAug 26, 2025
A yellow flame during burner combustion may be caused by not enough air. Check the burner for dirt and debris, and clean it if necessary. It could also mean the gas regulator is defective and needs replacement, or the inlet gas pressure is too low, requiring you to contact your local gas supplier.

What to do if the pilot light goes out on my EmberGlow Gas Heater?
    • Y
      ytaylorAug 28, 2025
If the ODS/pilot lights but the flame goes out when you release the control knob, make sure the control knob is fully pressed in and held for at least 30 seconds after the pilot lights. Also, ensure the equipment shutoff valve is fully open. A loose thermocouple connection at the control valve can also cause this issue; hand tighten it until snug, then tighten an additional 1/4 turn. The pilot flame might not be touching the thermocouple due to low gas pressure (contact your gas company) or a dirty/clogged ODS/pilot (clean or replace it). Finally, the thermocouple or control valve itself could be damaged and need replacement.

Why won't the burner light on my EmberGlow TCVFM18NS after the pilot is lit?
    • M
      Mary DavisAug 30, 2025
If the burner does not light after the ODS/pilot is lit, the burner orifice might be clogged and need cleaning or replacement. It's also possible that the burner orifice diameter is too small, requiring replacement. Finally, the inlet gas pressure could be too low, meaning you should contact your local gas supplier.

How to fix delayed ignition of burner on EmberGlow Gas Heater?
    • C
      Christopher BishopSep 1, 2025
Delayed ignition of the burner could be due to manifold pressure being too low, in which case you should contact your local gas supplier. Another cause could be a clogged burner orifice, which you should clean or replace.

Why is my EmberGlow Gas Heater making a whistling noise?
    • A
      adam34Sep 3, 2025
A whistling noise when the burner is lit can occur if the control knob is turned to the high position when the burner is cold; turn it to the low position and let it warm up for a minute. Air in the gas line could also be the cause; operate the burner until the air is removed and have the gas line checked by your local gas supplier. Blocked air passageways or a dirty/partially clogged burner orifice can also cause this; ensure minimum installation clearances and clean or replace the burner orifice.

What causes burner backfiring in EmberGlow TCVFM18NS?
    • K
      knightjeremySep 5, 2025
Burner backfiring during combustion can be caused by a clogged or damaged burner orifice, which should be cleaned or replaced. The burner itself may also be damaged and need replacement, or the gas regulator could be faulty and require replacement.

Why is my EmberGlow TCVFM18NS Gas Heater producing unwanted odors?
    • J
      Jeffrey JohnsonSep 7, 2025
Your heater might be producing unwanted odors because it's burning vapors from paint, hair spray, glues, etc. Open a window to ventilate the room and stop using odor-causing products while the heater is running. A gas leak could also be the cause, so locate and correct any leaks. Alternatively, if you're using a propane/LP model, a low fuel supply could be the issue; refill the supply tank.
