Do you have a question about the Emmaljunga NXT 2in1 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Emmaljunga NXT 2in1 is a versatile stroller designed and built to comply with EN 1888-1:2018 and EN 1888-2:2018 standards, making it suitable for children from birth up to 22 kg or 4 years, whichever comes first. It features a convertible design, allowing it to transform from a pram body (bassinet) for newborns to a seat unit for older infants and toddlers.

Function Description:

The NXT 2in1 serves as a complete travel system for children, adapting to their developmental stages. Initially, it functions as a pram body, providing a secure and comfortable lying position for infants from 0 to 6 months who cannot sit up unaided, roll over, or push themselves up. Once the child can sit unaided, the pram body can be converted into a seat unit, offering a more upright seating option. The stroller is intended solely for transportation and is not designed for running or skating. It is compatible with NXT90, NXT60, NXT Twin, and NXT90e chassis models.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Pram Body (Bassinet) Usage: Suitable for children from 0 to 6 months who cannot sit up unaided, roll over, or push themselves up on hands and knees. Maximum child weight: 9 kg.
  • Seat Unit Usage: Suitable for children from 6 months up to a maximum weight of 22 kg or 4 years, whichever comes first. The seat unit should not be used until the child can sit unaided.
  • Footrest Maximum Load: 3 kg.
  • Safety Standards: Complies with EN 1888-1:2018 and EN 1888-2:2018.
  • Mattress: Only the original Emmaljunga mattress supplied with the product should be used in the pram body. No additional mattresses should be added.
  • Tires: Air-filled tires may contain controlled amounts of PAH polyaromatic hydrocarbons. Professional repair or replacement is recommended.
  • Frame Material: The pram body's bottom plate is made of wood.

Usage Features:

  • Pram Body Assembly/Conversion:
    • To erect the pram body frame, pull the metal support bars along the bottom towards the plastic stops at both the foot and head ends.
    • Secure the two press studs on the easy-pull handle at the bottom of the pram body.
    • The pram body fabric is placed inside the frame, with the pocket facing the footrest. Fabric holders are pushed into fabric locks until they click, ensuring the fabric is properly fixed.
    • Inner bows are pushed through holes in the fabric and into the frame.
    • Conversion from seat unit to pram body involves removing the seat release handle, hex key connectors, and seat unit fabric, then installing the pram body fabric and bows.
  • Seat Unit Assembly/Conversion:
    • Conversion from pram body to seat unit involves removing the mattress and pram body bottom, then using a hex key to release and remove the fabric holders and pram body adapter.
    • The seat unit fabric is then placed into the frame, with fabric holders secured into fabric locks.
    • The seat release handle is pushed into place until it clicks.
    • Plastic buckles are locked downwards to secure the fabric.
  • Hood Assembly and Adjustment:
    • The hood clicks into the seat unit frame. A zipper connects the hood to the seat unit's backrest.
    • The hood fabric can be folded around the frame and upwards to open ventilation and a UV/insect net.
    • The hood can be gently pulled forward or backward to adjust its position.
  • Chassis Attachment:
    • Both the pram body and seat unit click securely into the chassis. Always ensure they are firmly fixed before use.
    • To remove, pull both side handles upwards and lift the unit off the chassis.
  • Bumper Bar:
    • The bumper bar inserts into brackets on both sides of the seat frame.
    • The crotch strap fastens around the bumper bar.
    • To open, unbutton the crotch strap, press the inner button, and open the bar.
  • 5-Point Harness:
    • The crotch strap is placed between the child's legs and up towards the waist.
    • Waist straps insert into the harness buckle until they click.
    • Sliding buckles on shoulder and waist straps allow for adjustment to fit snugly.
    • Buttons on the sides of the harness lock release the straps.
    • The harness position can be changed by unzipping the seat unit fabric, re-threading shoulder straps through different holes, and adjusting the crotch strap position.
  • Folding for Transport:
    • Pram body: Remove mattress, open press studs on the easy-pull handle, pull metal bars along the bottom, and fold connectors inwards.
    • Seat unit: Unlock plastic buckles, press fabric down to the frame, and fold left and right sides.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Care:
    • Avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight.
    • Always use a rain cover in snow or rain.
    • Never store in cold or damp places.
    • Dry the chassis immediately if it gets wet.
    • Rinse and dry the chassis if used near the ocean or on salted roads.
    • Handle with care during transport and storage to prevent scratches.
  • Routine Inspection:
    • Regularly clean the chassis and metal parts, dry, and lubricate all joints (except telescopic bar).
    • Wash wheel spokes and rims with warm water and dry with a cloth, especially weekly in winter.
    • Clean axles with a cloth.
    • Check all locking devices, rivets, nuts, bolts, plastic parts, wheel bearings, zippers, Velcro straps, elastic straps, and brake function regularly.
    • Verify correct tire air pressure.
    • Regularly check for damage to the chassis, pram body, and seat unit.
  • Air Wheels:
    • Inflate tires using a car adapter pump according to the pressure marked on the tire.
    • Minor balancing issues can be adjusted by releasing air, repositioning the tire on the rim, and re-inflating.
    • Small cracks due to ozone and UV radiation are normal and do not affect performance or safety.
    • Use wheel protection if storing on delicate surfaces to prevent discoloration from tire contact with PVC or other plastics.
  • Lubrication:
    • The parking brake requires regular lubrication.
    • Remove sand, snow, ice, and dirt from moving brake parts immediately.
    • Lubricate the brake pedal, wheel axle, and brake pins with silicone or oil-based lubricant at least once a month.
    • Lubricate wheel release mechanisms similarly.
    • Increased lubrication is needed if used in sandy, dirty, or wet conditions.
  • Washing Instructions:
    • Hood: Remove, extend, rinse inside with lukewarm water and mild liquid soap, then drip dry fully extended.
    • Seat Fabric & 5-Point Harness: Remove from chassis, hand wash fabric in lukewarm water with mild liquid soap, drip dry. Wipe nylon straps and plastic parts with a damp cloth (do not hand wash). Ensure harness is dry before reassembly.
    • Mattress: Hand wash and drip dry recommended.
    • Pram Body Fabric: Remove hood, mattress, and apron. Wipe exterior and interior non-woven material with a damp cloth (do not hand wash). Dry fully extended, protecting the wooden base from water.
    • General Fabric Care: If ironing, use a 100% cotton cloth between the iron and fabric. Iron polyester exterior fabrics and interior fabrics on gentle heat (110°C). Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembly.
    • Material Protector: Can be applied to exterior fabric after washing, always before reassembly. Do not place children in the stroller for at least 24 hours after applying a protector.
    • Leatherette Fabrics: Clean only with a drop of uncolored washing-up detergent and a damp cloth, then dry at room temperature. Do not wash according to general fabric instructions.
