Why is hot water not reaching the building from my Empyre Furnace?
    • L
      Lisa NguyenAug 7, 2025
If hot water isn't reaching the building, there might be a few reasons: * The water level could be low; if so, fill the system to the correct water level. * There might be no water circulating due to pump issues. Check if there's power to the pump. If the pump is faulty, fix or replace it, or replace the cartridge. * Air could be trapped in the water lines. Bleed the lines to release the air and reprime the circulating pump.

      Barry VelasquezAug 11, 2025
If your Empyre Furnace overheats and boils, the main door may have been left open; make sure to close it. Another cause could be leaking gaskets on the main door or ash cleanout. If this is the case, replace the gaskets or adjust the latches and/or hinges.

    • O
      Olivia JohnsonAug 16, 2025
If the blower on your Empyre Furnace won't turn on, it could be due to a few reasons: * The high limit switches might be off because the water temperature is higher than the aquastat setting. If this is the reason, wait for the water to cool down. * There might be no electricity. Check your power supply. * The blower may have overheated. If so, wait for it to cool down.

Why is my Empyre Furnace producing low heat output?
    • R
      Raymond FinleyAug 20, 2025
If you're experiencing low heat output from your Empyre Furnace, consider these factors: * High wood moisture may cause bridging. Use seasoned wood, cut wetter pieces shorter, load logs closer to the front, split bigger logs, and carefully place logs to avoid bridging. * Adding wood before the fire burns down completely is important. * Incorrect wood length and loading can cause bridging. Center logs over brick slots/air passages on the firebox floor to prevent air bypassing the wood.

Why is there smoke coming from the chimney of my Empyre Furnace?
    • T
      Tammy MillerAug 25, 2025
If there's smoke coming from the chimney of your Empyre Furnace most of the time, it could be due to a few reasons: * The smoke exit lid might not be sealing properly. Check the linkage to the door, look for gaps between the lid and opening rib, and tighten the lid pivoting bolt. * The wood quality might be poor; use only seasoned wood. * The water temperature could be too low. Reduce heat draw from the furnace, allowing the water temperature to reach at least 160°F (71°C).

      Alicia CooleyAug 28, 2025
If the blower is on but there's no air in the firebox of your Empyre Furnace, the flapper unit flap may be stuck shut. Force the flap open, then clean and oil it. To remove the flapper, unscrew the blower bolts. Ensure you are using only seasoned wood.

What to do if my Empyre Furnace overheated, and now there is no power to the blower?
    • P
      paulrichardsSep 1, 2025
If the water in your Empyre Furnace overheated and boiled over, and after refilling, the temperature is below the operating range with no power to the blower, the high limit switch (snap disc) may have tripped the circuit. This switch resets automatically when the temperature drops to approximately 130°F (54°C), restoring power once the snap disc function is reset.
