This Switch Module can be included and operated in any Z-Wave network
with other Z-Wave certified devices from other manufacturers and/or other
applications. All non-battery operated nodes within the network will act as
repeaters regardless of vendor to increase reliability of the network.
This Switch Module features the latest Security 2 (S2) framework to remove
smart home network hacking risks. This device is equipped with a unique
authentication code for trusted wireless communication.
1. ADD DEVICE to your hub. Initiate inclusion (pairing) in the app
2. Finalize inclusion at the relay. Press and released the program
button or toggle the connected switch 5 times quickly if using the
traditional Z-Wave inclusion
3. The connected load will turn on/off 3 times if inclusion is successful
1. Scan the QR code / Enter the 5-Digit Pin
2. The SmartStart security PIN is located on the back of the relay,
next to the Z-Wave Plus logo
3. The connected load will turn on/off 3 times if inclusion is successful
4. SmartStart enabled products can be added into a Z-Wave network
by scanning the Z-Wave QR Code present on the product with a
controller providing SmartStart inclusion. No further action is required
and the SmartStart product will be added automatically within 10
minutes of being switched on in the network vicinity.
1. Power the relay up
2. Tap the plus icon in the home screen of the SmartThings app
3. Tap Device
4. Tap “Scan QR code.” Scan the QR code printed on the inside of
the cover of the realy
5. Input the 5-digit pin
6. On the SmartThings app, select the hub and room you’d like the
device added to and click Next
7. When the app says “Get your device ready to connect”, press and
released the program button on the back of the relay
8. A few seconds later, the app will display a new device on the
screen
9. Click Done
1. Tap on your hub in the home page of the app or find it under
Devices in the SmartThings app
2. Tap the three dots in the top right
3. Tap Z-Wave Utilities
4. Tap Z-Wave Exclusion
5. While the app is searching for a device, press and released the
program button on the back of the relay
6. The app will indicate when the device is successfully removed.
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway (hub) close to the relay if possible
2. Put the Z-Wave hub into exclusion mode
3. Press and released the Z-WAVE program button or toggle the
connected switch 5 times quickly
4. The app will indicate when the device is successfully removed
WIRING DIRECTIONS: If Hot and Neutral are located in
the wall box, then wire the ZWN-RSM2-Plus G2 this way

Overview

The Enerlites ZWN-RSM2-PLUS Smart Single Relay Switch Module is a Z-Wave™ enabled device designed to provide smart control over lighting and other loads. It integrates into an existing wall switch (single pole) and offers both manual and Z-Wave on/off control with instant status updates.

Function Description:

This module allows for remote control of connected loads via a Z-Wave network, as well as local control through the existing wall switch. It supports the latest Security 2 (S2) framework for enhanced network security and features a 700 series Z-Wave™ chip for improved range and faster control. The device can be included and operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices, acting as a repeater for non-battery operated nodes to increase network reliability. It is compatible with both LED and incandescent bulbs.

  • Wiring: Designed for installation where Hot and Neutral are present in the wall box. Uses copper wire only, with a minimum temperature rating of 75°C (167°F).
  • Association Groups: Supports 2 association groups and a maximum of 5 nodes. Group 1 (Lifeline Group) sends Switch Binary Reports (configurable) when the switch status changes and Device Reset Locally notifications. Group 2 sends Basic Set commands when the switch status changes.
  • Configuration Parameters:
    • Delayed OFF Time (Parameter 1): 1-byte size, range 0-240. Defines a reaction time when users press the button to turn off the load.
    • Power On Status (Parameter 2): 1-byte size, range 0-2. Sets the initial status of the device when powered on (0=OFF, 1=ON, 2=Last State).
    • Child Lockout Enable (Parameter 3): 1-byte size, range 0-1. Enables or disables local control (0=Disable, 1=Enable).

Usage Features:

  • Z-Wave Control:
    • Inclusion (Pairing): Initiate inclusion in the app, then press and release the program button or toggle the connected switch 5 times quickly. The connected load will turn on/off 3 times upon successful inclusion.
    • SmartStart Inclusion: Scan the QR code or enter the 5-digit PIN located on the back of the relay. The connected load will turn on/off 3 times if inclusion is successful. SmartStart enabled products are automatically added to the Z-Wave network within 10 minutes of being switched on in the network vicinity after scanning the QR code with a SmartStart-enabled controller.
    • Exclusion (Removing/Unpairing): Put the Z-Wave hub into exclusion mode, then press and release the Z-Wave program button or toggle the connected switch 5 times quickly. The app will confirm successful removal.
  • SmartThings Hub Integration:
    • Inclusion: Power the relay up, tap the plus icon in the SmartThings app, select Device, then "Scan QR code" on the relay's cover. Input the 5-digit PIN, select the hub and room, then press and release the program button on the back of the relay when prompted.
    • Exclusion: In the SmartThings app, navigate to your hub, tap the three dots, select Z-Wave Utilities, then Z-Wave Exclusion. Press and release the program button on the back of the relay when the app is searching for a device.
  • Hubitat Integration:
    • Inclusion: Open Hubitat, go to Devices, "Discover Devices," "Z-Wave," then "Start Z-Wave Inclusion." Press and release the program button on the back of the device. Enter the S2 PIN if prompted.
    • Exclusion: Open Hubitat, go to Devices, "Discover Devices," "Z-Wave," then "Start Z-Wave Exclusion." Press and release the program button on the back of the device.
  • Vera Integration:
    • Inclusion: Power up the module, in the Vera app, select Devices, "+ ADD Device," then "Generic Z-Wave Device." Press and release the program button on the back of the device.
    • Exclusion: Tap the green Retry button in the Vera app to enter exclusion mode. Press and release the program button on the ZWN-RSM1-PLUS.
  • Status Indicators (ZWN-RSM1-PLUS Status and Load Behavior):
    • Power-on (networked): Follows the load.
    • Power-on (not networked): Load turns on and off once / 2 seconds / lasts 4 seconds (2 times).
    • Networking waiting: Load turns on and off once / 3 seconds / last 6 seconds (2 times) (slow flash).
    • Networking succeeded: Load turns on and off once / 1 second / last 3 seconds (3 times) (fast flash).
    • OTA start: Load turns on and off once / 2 second / last 6 seconds (3 times) (slow flash).
    • OTA success: Load turns on and off once / 1 second / last 1 second (1 time) (fast flash).
    • Reset successfully: Load turns on and off once / 1 second / last 5 seconds (5 times) (fast flash).

Maintenance Features:

  • Factory Reset: If the primary controller is missing or inoperable, the device can be reset to factory settings. To reset, press and hold the program button for 10 seconds. The device will send a reset locally notification to the controller, and the connected load will turn on/off 5 times to confirm a successful reset. All previously recorded activity and custom settings will be erased from the device's memory.
  • Over-The-Air (OTA) Firmware Updates: The device supports OTA updates, indicated by specific load behaviors during the process.
  • FCC Compliance: The device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference. Users are advised to reorient or relocate the receiving antenna, increase separation between equipment and receiver, connect equipment into a separate outlet, or consult a dealer/experienced radio/TV technician if interference occurs.

The device comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and workmanship defects. An original receipt or proof of purchase from an authorized retailer is required for warranty claims. The warranty is non-transferable and does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification, or improper installation. Enerlites' total liability is limited to repair, replacement, or refund.
