  If the fire in your England's Stove Works Stove is burning out of control, it could be due to excessive draft, air leakage, or burning excessively dry wood. Try reducing the chimney height. Inspect the window and door gaskets and replace them if necessary. Only burn seasoned cord wood, and avoid burning kiln-dried wood or pallet wood.

  Excessive smoke from the stack of your England's Stove Works Stove can be due to several reasons: operating the stove at a low burn rate, burning wet or green wood, or not charring a fresh wood load. To address this: operate the stove at a higher burn rate to create secondary combustion; only burn wood seasoned for at least one year that is dry and free of ice and snow; and char the fresh wood load until it is completely ignited and active secondary combustion is present in the firebox.
