Choose a level, firm location away from basement windows.

Attach spout, gasket, and nut to barrel, hand-tightening only.

Measure, cut downspout, and attach elbow spout with safety gear.

Remove disc from overflow spout, attach hose and clamp.

Secure lid with screws and place barrel level and stable.

Prevent children from playing on or near the barrel; affix lid securely.

Ensure power is off for heated downspouts; consult electrician.

Do not ingest water; use only for plants/outdoor items.

Use a level, stable platform; water is heavy.

Wear safety gear, use plywood for siding protection, read instructions.

Improper installation/maintenance can cause injury/death.
