Do you have a question about the Envirovent Damp Pro DP-EVL and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Damp Pro is a Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) unit designed to improve indoor air quality and resolve condensation and mold problems by supplying filtered air into a property at a continuous rate through a ceiling-mounted diffuser. The diffuser is typically installed in a hallway or landing area.

Function Description:

The unit operates by drawing air from the loft space, filtering it, and then introducing it into the living areas of the property. This continuous supply of fresh, filtered air helps to dilute and displace stale, moisture-laden air, thereby reducing humidity levels and preventing the conditions that lead to condensation and mold growth. The system is designed to create fresh and healthy living environments.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Dimensions: The unit measures 406 mm in width and depth, and 373 mm in height. The duct connection diameter is Ø200 mm.
  • Electrical Connection: The unit requires a continuous electrical power supply through a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA. It must be earthed, and a double pole switch with a minimum contact separation of 3.0mm is required for insulation. The supplied unswitched fuse spur should be incorporated into the fixed wiring. The power supply cable must be the supplied flexible cable.
  • Power Supply: Mains supply 230V 50/60Hz.
  • Airflow Rates and Power Usage (Heater Function Disabled):
    • Setting 1: Max air flow rate 21 l/s, Power usage 4 Watts
    • Setting 2: Max air flow rate 29 l/s, Power usage 4 Watts
    • Setting 3: Max air flow rate 38 l/s, Power usage 6 Watts
    • Setting 4: Max air flow rate 49 l/s, Power usage 9 Watts
    • Note: Airflow rates are for diffusers installed without blanking plates.
  • Temperature Response:
    • Between 19°C - 25°C: Air flow rate increases by 10%.
    • Above 25°C: The unit temporarily switches off to prevent bringing hot air from the loft into the property.
  • Heater Function: A wired comfort heater enable/disable switch can be connected up to 3 meters away. This must be a volt-free contact. When enabled, the system maintains the incoming air temperature at 10°C.
  • Smoke Alarm Integration: For properties with a floor more than 4.5m above ground level, the unit must be wired into a smoke alarm to switch off upon smoke detection. Compatible smoke kits are available (e.g., KIT-PIV-SMOKE-125, KIT-PIV-SMOKE-150, KIT-PIV-SMOKE-200, KIT-MIV-SMOKE-125).
  • Weight: Boxed unit weight is 7.7 kg, unboxed unit weight is 5.5 kg.

Usage Features:

  • Location: The unit should be installed in a location that does not affect the operation of open-flue appliances. External vents should be positioned a minimum of 300mm away from open-flues in all directions.
  • Diffuser Placement: The open sides of the diffuser must face a minimum 1m unobstructed path away from any smoke detectors. If repositioning is not possible, up to two sides can be closed with blanking plates, requiring a minimum 1.5m unobstructed path from smoke detectors. In properties with a floor above 4.5m, fire diffusers must be fitted at least 1m away from smoke detectors.
  • Airflow Rate Settings: The unit has four adjustable airflow rate settings (1, 2, 3, 4) which can be cycled through using the "Top button" on the keypad. These settings should be adjusted based on the size, type, and occupancy of the property.
  • Running Time Display: The "Bottom button" on the keypad displays the total running time of the unit in hours on the numeric display.
  • Comfort Heater: An optional wired switch allows enabling or disabling the comfort heater function. When enabled, the unit will maintain the incoming air temperature at 10°C.
  • Climate Suitability: The appliance is suitable for use in countries with a warm, damp, equable climate, and may also be used in other countries.

Maintenance Features:

  • Filter Replacement: The unit is designed to operate continuously for 5 years without requiring maintenance other than general cleaning. Filters should be replaced after 5 years of usage. In areas with high particulate matter, filters may need more frequent replacement.
  • Filter Types: Various replacement filters are available:
    • Replacement coarse particle filter (ISO Coarse 65%) - Order Code: FILTERPIV-COARSE
    • Replacement medium particle filter (ePM10 50%) - Order Code: FILTERANC-MEDI
    • Replacement fine particle filter (ePM2.5 50%) - Order Code: FILTERANC-FINE
    • Replacement coarse particle filter including carbon (ISO coarse 65% including carbon) - Order Code: FILTERANC-COARSE+C
  • Warranty: The unit comes with a full 5-year warranty covering defects or breakdowns due to faulty materials or construction. A receipt is required as proof of purchase. Tampering with the unit will void the warranty.
  • Cleaning: General cleaning is the only required maintenance within the first 5-year warranty period.
  • Damaged Power Cable: If the power supply cable becomes damaged, it must be replaced by EnviroVent, an authorised service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazards. Users should not remove or tamper with any electronic components inside the product.
