5. Load the passport into the input tray printed side up and with the thicker edge (the side with more
pages) facing first, and guide it in until it meets resistance (DS-C490).
If you are using an optional passport carrier sheet (required for DS-C330), load the passport into the
carrier sheet printed side up and with the thicker edge (the side with more pages) facing first, then
place the carrier sheet into the input tray and guide it in until it meets resistance.
