Do you have a question about the Epson PowerLite EB-720 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document provides a quick setup guide for the Epson PowerLite® EB-720/EB-725W projector, detailing its functions, usage features, and maintenance aspects.
The Epson PowerLite® EB-720/EB-725W is a versatile projector designed for various presentation and display needs. It supports multiple input sources, including computers, video devices, microphones, and USB storage devices, making it suitable for a wide range of applications from business presentations to educational settings. The projector can connect to a network, enabling both wired and wireless projection, and offers remote control capabilities via a physical remote or a web browser. It also supports mobile projection through the Epson iProjection app, enhancing flexibility and ease of use.
The projector offers extensive connectivity options. For computers, you can use an HDMI cable to connect to one of the projector's HDMI ports or a VGA cable to the Computer port. If using a laptop, you may need to switch to external display mode. For USB display, connect a USB-B cable from the projector to your computer. For Windows 7 or later, the Epson USB Display software (EMP_UDSE.EXE) will install automatically upon first connection; if not, it can be manually launched from My Computer/Computer/This PC. For OS X 10.8.x or higher, the USB Display Installer will appear in the Finder for software installation.
For video devices, the projector supports HDMI, component video (via VGA), RCA video (composite video), and audio connections. You can connect multiple video devices and switch between them using the Source Search button on the projector or remote control. A dynamic microphone can be connected to the Mic port using a 3.5 mm mini-jack cable.
For digital cameras, USB flash drives, USB storage devices, or Epson DC-07 document cameras, connect them to the projector's USB-A (flat) port. This enables the PC Free feature, allowing projection directly from these devices without a computer.
The projector comes with a remote control that requires two AA batteries. Key functions include turning the projector on/off, selecting input sources (HDMI, Computer, USB, LAN), accessing projector menus, navigating menus, controlling volume, and accessing the Home screen. The default menu language is English, but it can be changed via the Management menu.
To start, turn on your computer or video source, ensure the power cord is connected, and then press the power button on the projector or remote control. The projector will beep, and the Status light will flash blue before staying on. To shut down, press the power button twice. If no image appears, use the Source Search button to select the correct source. For focus adjustment, slide the switch on the side of the projector to open the air filter cover, then use the focus lever.
The projector supports both wired and wireless network connections. For wireless network configuration, press the Menu button, navigate to the Management menu, and set "Wireless LAN Power" to On. Then, go to the Network menu, select "Network Settings," and set "Wireless LAN" as the "Priority Control Interface." You can choose "Simple AP" as On for direct connection to a mobile device or Off to connect to a router. For wired network configuration, press the Menu button, select the Network menu, then "Network Settings," and set "Wired LAN" as the "Priority Control Interface." You can configure IP settings (DHCP on/off, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway Address) as needed.
To project over a network, install the Epson iProjection™ software on your computer. Press the LAN button on the remote control to display the network screen. On your computer, launch Epson iProjection (available for Windows and macOS). Select the projector from the list and click "Join." If prompted for a keyword, enter the four digits displayed on the projector's LAN standby screen.
For mobile devices (iOS, Android™, Chromebook™), download and install the Epson iProjection app using the provided QR code. Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same network as the projector (if using wireless). Press the LAN button on the remote control to display a QR code on the projector screen, then use the app's QR code reader to connect.
The projector can be controlled via a web browser. Open your browser, enter the projector's IP address (found in the Network menu), and log in with "EPSONWEB" (username) and "admin" (password). For basic control, use "EPSONREMOTE" (username) and "guest" (password). The on-screen buttons in the web interface mimic the physical remote control.
If you encounter a blank screen or "No signal" message, ensure the Status light is blue and not flashing. Press the Source Search button or Home button to verify the input source and settings. For Windows 7 or later, press Windows key + P and select "Duplicate." For Windows laptops, use the function key (e.g., Fn + F7) to switch to external display. For Mac laptops, go to System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement and select "Mirror Displays."
The projector requires specific software for USB display and network projection. For USB display, the Epson USB Display software is installed automatically on first connection for Windows and macOS. For network projection, the Epson iProjection™ software and manual can be downloaded from the product's support page. The Epson Projector Management software (Windows only) is also available for monitoring and controlling the projector over the network. It is important to keep this software updated for optimal performance.
