beiliegenden Bedienungsanleitung.

Overview

The ETA 5181 ARTISTA PRO is an espresso coffee maker designed for home use and similar environments, offering a range of features for preparing high-quality coffee.

Function Description:

This espresso machine is equipped with a conical burr grinder, allowing users to grind fresh coffee beans directly before brewing. It features a PID control system for precise temperature regulation, ensuring optimal extraction. The machine comes with a professional 58mm stainless steel portafilter and four stainless steel baskets (two standard and two overpressure) to accommodate different brewing preferences. A barometer is integrated to monitor extraction pressure, guiding users to achieve the correct brewing range. The steam nozzle is designed for frothing milk, enabling the preparation of cappuccinos, caffè lattes, and espresso macchiatos. The machine also includes a hot water function for preheating cups or making other hot beverages.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage (V): As specified on the product's type label.
  • Absorbed power (W): As specified on the product's type label.
  • Max. volume (l): 2.7 liters (water tank capacity).
  • Weight (kg) approximately: 8.8 kg.
  • Protection class of the appliance: I.
  • Size (mm): 393 x 516 x 373 (LxHxW).
  • Input in off mode: <0.50 W. The manufacturer reserves the right to change technical specifications and accessories for respective models.

Usage Features:

  • Coffee Grinding: The integrated coffee grinder (A6) allows for adjustable grinding roughness using knob A8, with a recommended range of 7-10 for normal coffee. Users can place the portafilter (C) with a selected basket (C1/C2/C3/C4) into the holder (A10) to activate the grinder switch (A11).
  • Espresso Preparation: The machine offers both overpressure (C2/C4) and standard (C1/C3) stainless steel baskets. After grinding and tamping the coffee, the portafilter is inserted into the machine. Users can select between one cup (B3, default 30 ml) or two cups (B4, default 60 ml) brewing. The barometer (A14) helps monitor the extraction pressure, indicating whether the coffee is under-extracted, correctly extracted, or over-extracted.
    • Correct Extraction: Grinding roughness is correct, coffee quantity is optimal (13-15g for one cup, 18-24g for two cups), extraction time is 25-35 seconds, pressure indicator is in the correct zone, resulting in a balanced taste, solid crema, and dark brown color.
    • Under-extracted: Coffee is too coarse, insufficient quantity, or extraction time is less than 20 seconds. Pressure indicator is in the first third, leading to a sour, watery, weak taste, thin or missing crema, and very light color.
    • Over-extracted: Coffee is too fine, excessive quantity, or extraction time is over 40 seconds. Pressure indicator is in the last third, resulting in a strong, oily, bitter, or burnt taste, high and oily crema, and very dark color.
  • Milk Frothing: The steam nozzle (A3) is used for frothing milk. Users fill the milk jug (G) with chilled whole milk, activate the steam nozzle by turning knob A1 to the "steam" position, wait for it to heat up, then turn to "MAX" to generate steam. The nozzle should be kept just below the milk surface to achieve a spiral rotation and ideal froth at 55-65°C.
  • Hot Water Function: The machine provides hot water through the steam nozzle (A3) by pressing button B2 after the machine has warmed up.
  • Customizable Coffee Quantity: The volume for one (B3) and two (B4) cups can be individually adjusted and saved.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Cleaning: All parts should be regularly inspected and cleaned to prevent mold. The appliance surface and power cord should be wiped with a damp cloth. Harsh or aggressive detergents, sharp objects, or dishwashers should not be used.
  • Coffee Grinder (A6): Clean regularly, at least once a month. The grinder can be removed and disassembled for thorough dry cleaning. Plastic parts (A7, A13) can be rinsed with warm soapy water and dried completely.
  • Water Tank (D): Wash thoroughly with soap and water weekly. Rinse daily under running water to prevent scale buildup.
  • Water Filter Adapter (D2): Clean with dishwashing detergent and rinse with clean water. Replace the filter according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Portafilter (C) and Baskets (C1/C2/C3/C4): Remove coffee grounds after each use. Rinse the funnel under running water. Wash filters with warm soapy water and rinse. Wipe the plastic handle with a damp cloth and dry.
  • Drip Tray (E): Empty as needed. Wash parts E and E1 with dishwashing detergent, rinse, and dry.
  • Steam Nozzle and Hot Water Outlet (A3): Clean immediately after each use by activating it in clean water and wiping it. Periodically remove the mouth (A5) and clean the opening with the cleaning needle (I).
  • Descaling: Descale at least once a month using a dedicated descaling solution (e.g., ETA518000201). The machine will alert users after approximately 200 cycles if descaling is needed, indicated by a red blinking light on all buttons. The descaling process involves flushing the system with a cleaning solution followed by clean water.
  • Backflush: Perform backflush twice a month without chemicals and once every six months with detergents to clean the shower and three-way valve. This involves using a blind basket (C5) in the portafilter and running the pump with water (and detergent if applicable). After cleaning with detergent, the portafilter and blind basket should be thoroughly rinsed, and the backflush process repeated with clean water only. The first coffee after this cleaning is not recommended for consumption.
