This device is engineered to ensure optimal water quality and user convenience, with several features aimed at enhancing both health and ease of use.
The core function of the Aquaguard® Select Classic+ with AYURFRESH™ is multi-stage water purification. It employs a combination of mechanical, chemical, and UV-based processes to remove impurities, eliminate disease-causing microorganisms, and enhance the water's natural properties.
The purification process begins with a Combination Cartridge, which acts as a sediment filter and activated carbon block. This stage removes physical impurities like turbidity and fine suspended particles, while also adsorbing color, odor, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), and excess chlorine, providing clear water.
Following this, the water passes through Mineral Guard™ Technology. This feature utilizes a micro-controller-based electronic impulse producer to generate electronic impulses. These impulses prevent scaling and deposition of Calcium and Magnesium on the UV reflector chamber's quartz glass tube, ensuring efficient UV penetration and maintaining the integrity of essential minerals like Calcium and Magnesium in the water.
The next critical stage is UV e-boiling, where a Germicidal UV Lamp disinfects the water. This process effectively eliminates waterborne disease-causing bacteria, viruses, and protozoa, making the water safe for consumption.
The Active Copper Maxx™ Cartridge* is a unique addition, fortifying the drinking water with essential natural minerals. The Aquaguard® Select Classic+ with AYURFRESH™ is designed for user-friendly operation with clear indications and dispensing options.
To dispense normal water, users simply touch and release the center area of the LED indication. During dispensing, a blue single LED rotates clockwise. To stop the water flow, the center area of the LED indication (Ayur icon) is touched and released again.
For dispensing Ayur water, users touch and release the dedicated Ayur button. A green single LED rotates clockwise while Ayur water is being dispensed. To stop, the Ayur button is touched and released again.
The device provides visual cues through LED indicators. When the unit is powered on, specific LEDs blink to indicate processing, then become solid-fixed to show readiness for water dispensing. A single solid LED indicates standby mode when the unit is not in use for a stipulated time.
The purifier also features a flushing function. During installation, after prolonged non-use (2-3 weeks), or when instructed, users can activate flushing by touching and holding the center LED area for 10 seconds. This helps flush out stagnant water. An anti-clockwise rotation of the LED indicates flushing is active.
The device incorporates an End of Life (EOL) indicator for filters. When a filter's life is nearing its end or is exhausted, specific LEDs will be solid, and the respective filter cartridge LED (Combination cartridge by LED 5, Active Copper Maxx by LED 1) will blink. This provides timely alerts for cartridge replacement. In some models, the unit may even seize operation at the end of life.
Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the Aquaguard® Select Classic+ with AYURFRESH™.
Filter Replacement: The device provides clear indications for when filter cartridges need replacement. Users should replace the cartridges when the EOL indicator is displayed. The Ayur cartridge has a specific life of up to 600 liters under standard test conditions, and its replacement is recommended when the taste/flavor reduces. All cartridges and spares should be genuine and procured from authorized Eureka Forbes service centers.
Cleaning and Flushing: Regular flushing is recommended, especially after initial installation, after changing the Ayur cartridge, or if the unit has not been used for more than 48 hours, to discard the first glass of water and prevent strong flavors from prolonged stagnation.
General Care: It is advised to keep the outlet spout covered with a cap when the purifier is not in use. The main switch should be turned OFF if the unit will not be used for 3-4 hours or more. Storing purified water in clean containers and consuming it within two days is recommended for hygiene.
Routine Check-ups: Eureka Forbes recommends routine check-ups for the Aquaguard® Select at least once every 6 months to ensure continued optimal performance.
Installation Guidelines: Installation must be performed by a trained Eureka Forbes Service Technician. The device should be installed in a suitably ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, heating devices, or freezing temperatures. Input water quality, including TDS, temperature, and pressure, should be within specified limits. If input water conditions exceed these limits (e.g., high pressure, high iron content, high turbidity), additional pre-treatment accessories like a Pressure Reducing Valve, Booster Pump, or special pre-filters may be required.
Ayur Cartridge Specifics: The Ayur cartridge should be installed within 9 months from the manufacturing date and replaced after 600 liters of usage or when the taste/flavor diminishes. It is packed separately in a moisture barrier pack and should be installed immediately after opening. Exhausted Ayur cartridges must be returned to authorized Eureka Forbes personnel.
