Function Description:

The ERJ 185P is primarily a multi-function rice cooker, but its capabilities extend to various other cooking modes. It features dedicated functions for:

  • COOK / FAST COOK: For standard and quick rice cooking.
  • PORRIDGE / CONGEE: For preparing different consistencies of porridge or congee.
  • SOUP / STEW: For simmering soups and stews.
  • BROWN RICE: Specifically designed for cooking brown rice and similar grains.

Usage Features:

The cooker's control panel is intuitive, featuring buttons for MENU, START, PRESET, TIMER, and KEEP WARM/CANCEL.

  • Quick Guide to Cook Rice:

    1. Measure the desired amount of rice using the measuring cup.
    2. Wash the rice and add water to the pot according to personal preference (do not exceed the "MAX" watermark).
    3. Wipe the pot exterior, place it in the cooker, and turn it slightly to ensure proper contact with the heating plate.
    4. Close the lid securely until it clicks.
    5. Plug in the power cord.
    6. After switching on, the display shows "----". Press MENU to select "COOK" or "FAST COOK", then START.
    7. When cooking is complete, a beeping sound will be heard, and the "KEEP WARM" indicator light will illuminate. The cooker automatically switches to Keep Warm mode.
    8. Unplug the cord after serving.
  • Cooking/Fast Cooking:

    1. Fill the pot with ingredients.
    2. Press MENU to select "COOK" or "FAST COOK".
    3. Press START to begin cooking. The display shows the cooking process.
    4. To set a delayed cooking time, press PRESET, then TIMER to adjust the delay (30 minutes to 24 hours). Press START to begin the countdown.
    5. During cooking, press KEEP WARM/CANCEL to stop.
    6. After cooking, the unit automatically switches to Keep Warm for up to 24 hours.
  • Porridge/Congee Cooking:

    1. Fill the pot with ingredients.
    2. Press MENU to select "PORRIDGE" or "CONGEE".
    3. The default cooking time is 45 minutes for Porridge or 1 hour for Congee. Adjust with TIMER (Porridge: 5-130 minutes, Congee: 5-4 hours, in 1-minute increments).
    4. Start cooking immediately with START or set a delay with PRESET and TIMER.
    5. Cancel with KEEP WARM/CANCEL during cooking.
    6. After cooking, it enters Keep Warm mode for up to 24 hours.
  • Soup/Stew Making:

    1. Fill the pot with ingredients.
    2. Press MENU to select "SOUP" or "STEW".
    3. Default cooking time is 1 hour for Soup or 2 hours for Stew. Adjust with TIMER (Soup: 1-4 hours, Stew: 2-12 hours, in 5-minute increments).
    4. Start cooking immediately with START or set a delay with PRESET and TIMER.
    5. Cancel with KEEP WARM/CANCEL during cooking.
    6. After cooking, it enters Keep Warm mode for up to 24 hours.
  • Brown Rice Cooking:

    1. Fill the pot with ingredients.
    2. Press MENU to select "BROWN RICE".
    3. Default cooking time is 1.5 hours. Adjust with TIMER (1-2 hours, in 5-minute increments).
    4. Start cooking immediately with START or set a delay with PRESET and TIMER.
    5. Cancel with KEEP WARM/CANCEL during cooking.
    6. After cooking, it enters Keep Warm mode for up to 24 hours.
  • Yogurt Making:

    1. Sterilization: Fill pot with 1L water, select "PASTA/STEAM", START. After cycle, pour water out, let cool, and dry.
    2. Fill pot with milk and yogurt (10:1 ratio), mix thoroughly.
    3. Press MENU to select "YOGURT".
    4. Default cooking time is 8 hours. Adjust with TIMER (6-12 hours, in 5-minute increments).
    5. Start cooking immediately with START or set a delay with PRESET and TIMER.
    6. Cancel with KEEP WARM/CANCEL during cooking.
    7. After cooking, yogurt is ready. For cold yogurt, refrigerate after it cools down.
  • Cake Making:

    1. Grease the pot.
    2. Pour cake mixture into the pot.
    3. Press MENU to select "CAKE".
    4. Default cooking time is 50 minutes. Adjust with TIMER (50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, in 5-minute increments).
    5. Start cooking immediately with START.
    6. Cancel with KEEP WARM/CANCEL during cooking.
    7. After cooking, it enters Keep Warm mode for up to 24 hours.
  • Pasta/Steaming:

    1. Fill pot with water. For steaming, place food in the steamer basket inside the pot.
    2. Press MENU to select "PASTA/STEAM".
    3. Default cooking time is 8 minutes. Adjust with TIMER (8-20 minutes, in 1-minute increments).
    4. Start cooking immediately with START or set a delay with PRESET and TIMER.
    5. For pasta, once water boils (beeping sound), carefully open lid and add ingredients, keeping lid open during cooking.
    6. Cancel with KEEP WARM/CANCEL during cooking.
    7. After cooking, it enters Keep Warm mode for up to 24 hours.
  • Keep Warm:

    1. In standby mode, press KEEP WARM/CANCEL to activate. The display counts up.
    2. Cancel by pressing KEEP WARM/CANCEL again.
    3. It is recommended not to keep food warm for more than 12 hours to preserve taste.
  • Preset Timer:

    1. Press MENU to select the desired function.
    2. Press PRESET, then TIMER to set the delay time (30 minutes to 24 hours, in 30-minute increments).
    3. Press START to begin the countdown. Cooking starts after the countdown.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning Instructions:

    1. Take out the pot, wash it with detergent, rinse, and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Do not use metal brushes or harsh tools to wash the pot to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
    2. Remove the water holder, wash it with water, and then replace it after cleaning.
    3. Clean the grain of cooked rice or other sundries that may attach to the electric heating plate. The fine sandpaper can be used to grind them away, and wipe it with a soft cloth to keep the full contact between the pot and heating plate.
  • Water Holder Cleaning:

    1. Disassembling: Position your fingers at both sides of the water holder and pull it out for cleaning.
    2. Assembling: After washing, place the water holder correctly to the seat and push it in to secure it to the right position.

Precautions:

  • The pot cannot be heated on any other furnace; otherwise, it can be deformed easily.
  • When the cooked rice starts to keep warm, it is not suitable for eating immediately. The rice will be softer and more delicious if it continues to steam for another 10 minutes before serving.
  • The duration for "keeping warm" must not be exceeded 12 hours in order to avoid degrading the flavor of the cooked rice.
  • The product does not have the function of cooking porridge. Thus it cannot be used for cooking porridge and soup in order to avoid a large amount of soup or water overflow and damage the electric heating plate.

Warranty Information:

The product comes with a 1-year warranty. Online registration within 7 days of purchase at www.europace.com.sg/ewarranty/ provides an additional 3 months of warranty. The warranty is valid in Singapore only and covers faulty design, workmanship, or materials. It does not cover damages from misuse, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or unauthorized repairs. Accessories and external parts are excluded. Transportation and labor charges apply after the full parts warranty expires.
