Overview

This document serves as an instruction manual for the EuropAce Premium Dual Zone Wine Cooler, covering models EWC 6340S, EWC 6460S, EWC 6110S, and EWC 6155S. It provides comprehensive guidance on the safe operation, installation, and maintenance of the appliance, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Function Description

The EuropAce Premium Dual Zone Wine Cooler is designed to store wine bottles at optimal temperatures, preserving their quality and flavor. It features a dual-zone cooling system, allowing for two different temperature settings within the same unit. This is particularly beneficial for storing various types of wine, such as red, white, rosé, and sparkling, each requiring specific temperature ranges for ideal preservation. The appliance is equipped with a compressor-based cooling system, ensuring efficient and consistent temperature control. The dual-zone functionality means that the upper zone can be set to a different temperature than the lower zone, catering to diverse wine storage needs simultaneously.

Usage Features

The wine cooler offers several user-friendly features to enhance the wine storage experience.

Temperature Control: The unit allows users to set and monitor the internal temperature for both the upper and lower zones. Temperature display can be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius. The control panel, which varies slightly between models, includes UP and DOWN buttons for precise temperature adjustments. Recommended temperature settings are provided for different wine types:

  • Conservation: 10~14°C (49~57°F)
  • Red Wines: 15~18°C (58~65°F)
  • Dry/White Wines: 9~14°C (48~57°F)
  • Rosé Wines: 10~11°C (49~51°F)
  • Sparkling Wines: 5~8°C (40~47°F)

The preset factory temperatures are 10°C (50°F) for the upper zone and 16°C (60°F) for the lower zone. The LED readout displays the actual temperature inside the cabinet, with the temperature appearing in blue color in the "DISPLAY" window.

ON/OFF Power: A dedicated ON/OFF button allows for easy power management of the appliance. After a power interruption or if the unit has been turned off, a delay of 3 to 5 minutes is required before restarting to prevent damage to the compressor.

Interior Light: The wine cooler is equipped with interior lights in both the upper and lower zones, which can be activated by pressing a "bulb" symbol button. These lights automatically turn off after 10 minutes or more if left on, and can be reactivated by pressing the button again.

Door Lock: For added security, the unit comes with a lock and key combination. The keys are typically found in the plastic bag containing the user's guide. The door can be locked by inserting the key and turning it clockwise, and unlocked by turning it counterclockwise.

Shelving System: The appliance features pull-out roller shelves, making it easy to access bottles. To prevent damage to the door gasket, the door should be fully opened before pulling out the shelves. For convenient access, shelves can be pulled out approximately one-third of the way. The manual also provides instructions for removing shelves for cleaning or rearrangement, involving pressing down on a right plastic notch and lifting a left plastic notch simultaneously.

Door Swing Reversal: For models EWC 6460S, EWC 6110S, and EWC 6155S, the door swing direction can be reversed from left-opening to right-opening, or vice versa, to suit different installation preferences. Detailed step-by-step instructions and diagrams are provided for this procedure, including the removal and reinstallation of lock screws, lower hinge, bush, lower hinge bracket, glass door, door axle, and handle. All removed parts must be saved for this process.

Installation Guidelines: The manual emphasizes proper installation for safe and efficient operation. This includes placing the unit on a strong, level floor, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and in a well-ventilated area with ambient temperatures between 0-35°C (32-95°F). It also highlights the importance of a dedicated, properly grounded 3-prong electrical outlet (220-240V AC, 50Hz) and warns against using adapters or extension cords. The power cord should be secured to prevent accidental injury.

Storage Capacity: The storage capacity varies by model:

  • EWC 6340S: 12 standard bottles in the upper zone, 22 in the lower zone.
  • EWC 6460S: 16 standard bottles in the upper zone, 30 in the lower zone.
  • EWC 6110S: 55 standard bottles in the upper zone, 56 in the lower zone.
  • EWC 6155S: 77 standard bottles in the upper zone, 78 in the lower zone. It's noted that actual bottle count may vary due to different bottle sizes and dimensions.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the wine cooler's performance and hygiene.

Cleaning the Unit: The manual recommends cleaning the unit about once a month to prevent odor buildup. Before any cleaning or maintenance, the unit must be disconnected from the mains electrical supply.

  • Interior Cleaning: All items and racks should be removed. Removable parts and interior surfaces should be hand washed, rinsed, and thoroughly dried with a damp cloth. A solution of bicarbonate of soda and lukewarm water is recommended for cleaning the interior cabinet. Wooden shelves should not be immersed in water. Abrasive products, harsh cleaners, window sprays, scouring cleansers, flammable fluids, cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches, or cleansers containing petroleum products should be avoided on plastic parts, interior, and door gaskets, as they can cause damage or discoloration. Paper towels, scouring pads, or other harsh cleaning tools are also not recommended.
  • Exterior Cleaning: The exterior of the appliance and the door seal should be cleaned with mild soapy water and dried thoroughly.

Moving the Unit: When moving the appliance, users should remove all items, unplug the unit, tape the door(s) and all removable parts inside, and tape the power cord to the unit.

Prolonged Storage: If the appliance will not be used for an extended period, it should be unplugged, thoroughly cleaned, and the door left slightly ajar to prevent odors and condensation.

Troubleshooting Guide: A comprehensive troubleshooting section helps users identify and resolve minor operating problems before contacting service. It covers common issues such as the unit not operating, not cooling sufficiently, being too cold, unusual noises, and moisture formation inside or outside the unit.

Safety Instructions: The manual includes important safety instructions, emphasizing child safety, proper disposal of old appliances, and warnings against using flammable fluids or storing hazardous materials near the unit. It also provides guidelines for electrical safety, including proper grounding and avoiding damaged power cords.

Warranty Information: The document outlines the product warranty terms and conditions, including online registration for an extended warranty period. It specifies warranty coverage for various components and models, as well as exclusions and limitations, such as commercial use, improper installation, and cosmetic damage. Service contact information for EuropAce Service Center and related product hotlines is also provided.
