Instruction Manual for
RF Remote Control Socket and Transmitter
EMW200R-UL, the remote control socket
EMW200T, the hand held transmitter
As always follow electrical safety precautions, do not use with unattended appliances or those involving
heating elements.
Function
1. The remote control socket (EMW200R-UL) turns on and off the connected lighting or appliance by a wireless
transmitter (EMW200T) using radio frequency up to 25 meters away.
2. It is ideal for controlling lighting for the purposes of home automation and energy saving.
3. Each transmitter controls up to 3 channels. Each channel can command up to 3 receivers.
Operation
1. Check the group setting at the back of the transmitter, A, B, C or D. If the transmitter is in group A, then, the
commanded receiver has to be in the same group setting.
2. Check the group setting at the back of the receiver is same as transmitter and the channel no, eg. A1, A2 or A3
3. Connect the remote control socket to the mains power supply.
4. Press the corresponding “ON”, “OFF” buttons on the transmitter to switch on and off the connected appliance by
remote control. (eg. on/off buttons 1 controls receiver A1, 2 controls receiver A2, 3 controls A3)
5. The indicator on the receiver blink once for every reception of power on/off
Caution
1. For safety reason, always switch off your appliance before connection.
2. Appliances to be connected to the remote control socket MUST NOT exceed the voltage and frequency ratings
as in “Specifications”.
3. User can adjust the channel group on the transmitter and socket receiver at any time. And to change the group
setting, eg. From A1 to A2, or to A3, in order to change the control button position on the transmitter.
4. To adjust the channel or the groups, always use a big screw driver with the same diameter as the adjustment
arrow at the back of the socket and receiver. A small screw driver will deform the plastic housing during
adjustment.

Overview

This document describes the RF Remote Control Socket and Transmitter, specifically the EMW200R-UL remote control socket and the EMW200T handheld transmitter.

Function Description:

The system allows for wireless control of lighting or appliances using radio frequency signals. The EMW200R-UL remote control socket connects to a mains power supply and controls a connected device. The EMW200T handheld transmitter sends wireless commands to the socket. The primary function is to turn connected devices on and off remotely, making it suitable for home automation and energy-saving applications. The system operates using radio frequency signals, with an effective range of up to 25 meters in an open area. Each transmitter is capable of controlling up to three distinct channels, and each channel can, in turn, command up to three individual receivers. This modularity allows for flexible control configurations within a household or office environment.

Important Technical Specifications:

EMW200R-UL (Remote Control Socket):

  • Power Rating: 125V~, 8A, 1000W resistive load, 625W tungsten load. This indicates the maximum electrical capacity the socket can handle for different types of connected devices. It's crucial not to exceed these ratings to ensure safe operation and prevent damage to the socket or the connected appliance.
  • Frequency: 433.92 MHz. This is the radio frequency at which the socket receives commands from the transmitter.
  • Distance: 25 meters max. (open area). This specifies the maximum effective range between the transmitter and the receiver under ideal conditions, without significant obstructions.

EMW200T (Handheld Transmitter):

  • Battery: 23A 3L R50 12V. This details the type and voltage of the battery required to power the handheld transmitter.
  • Frequency: 433.92 MHz. This is the radio frequency at which the transmitter sends commands.
  • Distance: 25 meters max. (open area). Similar to the receiver, this indicates the maximum effective transmission range.

Usage Features:

Setup and Operation:

  1. Group Setting: Both the transmitter and the receiver have a group setting (A, B, C, or D) located at their back. For the system to function correctly, the transmitter and the commanded receiver must be set to the same group.
  2. Channel Setting: The receiver also has channel settings (e.g., A1, A2, A3). These correspond to the control buttons on the transmitter.
  3. Connection: The remote control socket (EMW200R-UL) is connected directly to the mains power supply. The appliance to be controlled is then plugged into the socket.
  4. Remote Control: To operate, users press the corresponding "ON" or "OFF" buttons on the EMW200T transmitter. For example, buttons labeled '1' control receiver A1, '2' control A2, and '3' control A3.
  5. Visual Feedback: The receiver includes an indicator light that blinks once each time it successfully receives an "ON" or "OFF" command, providing visual confirmation of signal reception.

Adjustability:

  • Channel and Group Adjustment: Users have the flexibility to adjust both the channel group on the transmitter and the socket receiver at any time. This allows for reconfiguring which buttons on the transmitter control which receivers. For instance, a user can change a receiver from group A1 to A2 or A3 to alter its control button position on the transmitter.
  • Tool for Adjustment: It is explicitly stated that a large screwdriver, with a diameter matching the adjustment arrow at the back of the socket and receiver, should always be used for these adjustments. Using a small screwdriver is cautioned against, as it can deform the plastic housing.

Safety Precautions:

  • Appliance Disconnection: For safety reasons, it is crucial to always switch off the appliance before connecting it to the remote control socket.
  • Load Limits: Appliances connected to the remote control socket must not exceed the specified voltage and frequency ratings to prevent damage or hazards.
  • Unattended Appliances/Heating Elements: The manual explicitly warns against using the device with unattended appliances or those involving heating elements, emphasizing a critical safety concern.

Maintenance Features:

Radio Frequency Interference (FCC Statement):

The device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules, meaning it's designed to operate without causing harmful interference and must accept any interference received.

  • User Responsibility: Users are advised that changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void their authority to operate the equipment.
  • Interference Resolution: In case the equipment causes harmful interference to radio or television reception, the user is encouraged to try to correct it using several measures:
    • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
    • Increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver.
    • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
    • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for assistance.

This comprehensive description covers the core functionalities, technical specifications, operational guidelines, safety warnings, and maintenance considerations for the RF Remote Control Socket and Transmitter system.
