Overview

The EVO Abacus 9 & 12 Cycle Computers are devices designed to track various cycling metrics. They come with a cycle computer unit, a speed sensor, a speed magnet, a rubber contour grommet, a bracket, and four nylon ties for mounting.

Function Description:

The cycle computer displays current speed, average speed, maximum speed, trip time, distance, odometer readings (total distance, ODO1 for Bike 1, ODO2 for Bike 2 - Abacus 11 only), and calories consumed (KCal Mode). It also features a clock mode with 12/24-hour display and a low battery indicator. The Abacus 11 model includes a backlight function.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Operating Temperature (Receiver & Speed Sensor): 0°C to 40°C
  • Storage Temperature (Receiver & Speed Sensor): -10°C to 50°C
  • Battery (Receiver & Speed Sensor): 3 volt lithium 2032 cell
  • Emitted Frequency (Speed Sensor): 122k±5%
  • Weight: Receiver: 30.6 grams, Speed Sensor: 20 grams
  • Timer Range: 0-29 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds
  • Current/Average/MAX Speed Range: 0-99.9 KM/H or 0-62.4 Mile
  • Trip Distance Range: 0-999.99 KM or 0-624.99 Mile
  • Odometer Range: 0-99999 KM or 0-62499 Mile
  • Wheel Size Acceptance: 100mm to 2,999mm

Usage Features:

Mounting:

  1. Bracket Mounting: Use the nylon ties to secure the bracket to the handlebar or stem.
  2. Computer Mounting: Place the cycle computer on the bracket and secure it by turning clockwise.
  3. Speed Sensor Mounting: Mount the sensor to the front fork using nylon ties.
  4. Magnet Mounting: Secure the magnet to a spoke on the front wheel using the included screw, ensuring it faces the speed sensor. The magnet must be within 2-3mm of the speed sensor for proper function. It's crucial to tighten the speed sensor properly to avoid interference with spokes.

Setting Wheel Size:

The wheel circumference needs to be determined for accurate readings. A wheel size chart is provided in the manual for nominal sizing.

Key Functions and Mode Change:

The device has a "Mode" key and a "SET" key for navigation and settings.

  • Mode Key: Press quickly to cycle through different modes:
    • CLK MODE (Clock Mode)
    • TM MODE (Trip Time Mode)
