Overview

The EXP PRO Batteries (EXP48PRO and EXP96PRO) are hand-held power solutions designed for portability and versatility, offering power to explore various outdoor activities and provide backup during unexpected power outages. These batteries are primarily used for charging common electronic devices and powering CPAP/BiPAP machines.

Function Description:

The EXP PRO batteries serve as portable power sources, capable of charging a wide range of devices including cell phones, Go Pros, laptops, tablets, Bluetooth speakers, drones, LED lights, cameras, Air Pods, and CPAP/BiPAP machines. They feature multiple output ports (DC, Type-C, USB) to accommodate different charging needs. The batteries are designed with "Pass-Through Technology," allowing devices to be charged from the battery while the battery itself is being recharged. This feature also enables the battery to automatically switch to battery power during a power outage. For enhanced capacity, two batteries can be connected in parallel (daisy-chaining). Additionally, the batteries include a white light and an emergency amber flashing light for illumination and signaling purposes.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Models: EXP48PRO and EXP96PRO
  • EXP48PRO Capacity: 153.6-Watt Hours (Wh) / 12.8 Amp Hours (Ah) @ 12V / 48,000 Milli Amp Hours (mAh) @ 3.2V.
  • EXP96PRO Capacity: 307.2-Watt Hours (Wh) / 25.6 Amp Hours (Ah) @ 12V / 96,000 Milli Amp Hours (mAh) @ 3.2V.
  • DC Output Port: DC12V@10A Continuous / 15A Peak (5Min). The EXP96PRO model has 2 DC Output Ports.
  • Type-C Input: DC5V@3A / 9V@3A / 15V@3A / 20V@2.25A.
  • Type-C Output: DC5V@3A / 9V@3A / 12V@3A / 15V@3A / 20.3V@3A.
  • USB Output 1: DC5V@2.4A.
  • USB Output 2: DC3.6V-6.5V@3A / 6.5V-9V@2A / 9-12V@1.5A.
  • AC Charger Input: 110V-240V / Output 15V@2A (2000mA).
  • DC Charger Input: 12V-24V / Output 15V@2A (2000mA).
  • Solar Panel Charging (Optional): EXP PRO 30 Watt Solar panel provides up to 18V @ 1.5A.
  • Battery Management System (BMS): Built-in for balanced charging/discharging and protection against over-charging, over-discharging, over-current, over-temperature, and short circuit.
  • Life Cycles: ≤ 5,000.
  • Charging Time (approximate):
    • EXP48PRO: 6.5 hours ± @ 2A.
    • EXP96PRO: 13.0 hours ± @ 2A.
  • Airline Travel:
    • EXP48PRO (154 watts): TSA Compliant for carry-on luggage (up to two batteries), subject to TSA officer's final decision.
    • EXP96PRO (307 watts): Not FAA compliant for airline travel.

Usage Features:

  • Charging: The batteries can be charged via AC (wall outlet) or DC (car) chargers, both included. An optional 30 Watt Solar Panel is available for outdoor charging. Charging is automatic once connected, and the battery is fully charged when all power indicator lights are solidly lit for at least 30 minutes.
  • Powering Devices:
    • DC Output Port: Devices can be plugged into the main round power port using a 12V cigarette style plug. The port(s) automatically turn on and provide power. Unplugging the device turns off the port.
    • USB Output Ports: Standard USB ports for charging compatible devices.
    • Type-C Input/Output Port: Versatile port for both charging the battery and powering devices.
  • Pass-Through Technology: Allows simultaneous charging of the battery and connected devices. The battery automatically switches to its internal power during an outage.
  • Parallel Connection (Daisy Chaining): Up to two batteries can be connected using the provided DC charge cord to double the available capacity. One battery's charge port connects to the other battery's main power port (12V/15A).
  • Lighting:
    • White Light: Press and hold the power button to turn on/off.
    • Emergency Amber Flashing Light: Quickly press the power button twice to turn on/off.
  • CPAP Machine Compatibility:
    • DC Output Port (Recommended): Requires a specific 12V cigarette style DC power cord for the PAP machine (sold separately). Turning off auxiliary features like heat and humidity is recommended for maximum run time.
    • AC Output Port (Using a Pure Sine Inverter): An AC power cord from the PAP machine plugs into a pure sine inverter, which then plugs into the battery's DC output port. This method draws up to 20% more power than direct DC connection. A pure sine wave inverter is recommended.
  • CPAP Runtimes (average 7 hours sleep, auxiliary features off):
    • EXP48PRO: 2-3 Nights
    • EXP96PRO: 4-6 Nights

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Management System (BMS): Controls balanced charging and discharging, and protects against various electrical faults (over-charging, over-discharging, over-current, over-temperature, short circuit). If tripped, the BMS can be reset by plugging in the AC charge cord.
  • Charging Practices:
    • Do not leave the battery unattended for long periods while charging.
    • Charge within an optimum ambient temperature range of 40°F - 110°F (do not charge below 32°F).
    • Do not charge if the cord or battery shows obvious damage or bulging, or if the battery feels excessively hot.
    • The battery temperature should not exceed 120°F during charging or discharging.
  • Storage: For storage longer than 3 months, store the battery at 40-50% of its capacity. It is best practice to fully charge the battery before its first use.
  • Safe Use of Lithium Batteries:
    • Avoid exposure to liquids, especially saltwater, to prevent internal corrosion and damage to lithium cells or BMS.
    • Do not drop the battery to prevent damage to lithium cells or BMS.
    • Avoid operating the battery in direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can damage the BMS electrical components and lithium cells.
  • Warranty: EXP PRO offers a 2-year limited warranty to the original consumer purchaser, covering defects in workmanship and material under normal consumer use. The warranty excludes misuse, abuse, modification, accidental damage, use outside normal consumer use, products purchased through online auction houses, or batteries not stored at the proper charge level.
